I believe it was never called the Gerdin School of Business, as Gerdin is just the name of the building where the college of business is located. As it says in the article, the school of business will be the first to be named after someone.

You are correct. I misspoke. I should have said being named. But everyone associates Gerdin with the business college, so I apologize for the confusion

This is correct. It was only a school for four years in the 1980s when it was under what is now LAS. Since 1984 it has been the College of Business and since 2004 it has been housed in the Gerdin Business Building. It will now be the Ivy College of Business.
