That would require people in the Sukup club to actually do something resembling caring about the game, which will never happen. They’re happy to drink their beer and sit on their hands all game

The south endzone stomping could be led by the poor people in the lower corners!

This take will certainly not go over well here, but the band needs to play less during the game IMO. OU had the best atmosphere of any stadium I have been to and they pumped in a bunch of music over the sound system. It got that place rocking

My son says that the band should play less at Hilton. I went to K-State for a MBB game last year and they did just about everything that my son thinks they should do at Hilton.

If you're watching the game, how do you know what all of us there apparently don't do (which is an incorrect generalization, BTW)?

It would almost have to be.

It would be tough to get the concrete floor in front of the bar to make much noise no matter how hard the Sukup folks stomped…

The UW experience is overrated, except for the "5th Quarter" after the game. That is amazing.

Never seen the 5th quarter.

Disagree on a game experience vs. Jack Trice.

Good crowd participation, great long standing traditions, etc. And really not a bad view in the place in addition.

See.... I can understand your point,..... it is kind of a weird song? Yes. Is it kind of cheesy? Yes. But Juicy Wiggle has a bit of history to it. Iowa State was down big, Iowa State scored, Juicy Wiggle was played and the place went nuts and an epic comeback occurred. And so it began. Personally what is embarrassing - for me - is how Iowa State wants to stamp Sweet Caroline as a tradition and attempts to call it their own. I find that embarrassing. EVERY sporting venue from high school basketball, farm team baseball, minor league hockey, college football to professional basketball plays Sweet Caroline at some point in the game/match.
Idk how many games you go to but juicy wiggle started when we were piss pounding WVU and sacking Will Grier what seemed like 30 times.

Juicy Wiggle sucks
Disagree. I've never seen our entire stadium come alive as much as when they play the Juicy Wiggle. It's uniquely Iowa State.

In fact, I'd encourage Jamie to arrange for the singer (whoever he is) to show up unannounced for a night game and have him sing the song on the north end zone balcony to the recorded music karaoke style. I bet the stadium would go nuts.

Stop having the band play the freaking fight song when the Team runs on the field - after playing a loud pump up song, then exactly 2.3 seconds of Stone Cold’s entrance music - then DERP - band playing fight song that can’t even be heard in the upper level. Sucks the entire energy of the entrance right out. And it’s embarrassing (and disrespectful) to cut off Stone Cold’s music almost instantly after starting it.

Nothing dorkier as a football team to have loud pump up music cut off by the band playing. :curse:
I think they should play Bells of Iowa State as the team comes onto the field. If that doesn’t get the fans juiced I don’t know what will.

I wish they would ad free wifi at both Jack Trice and Hilton. Been to several other stadiums and arenas over the past 3 years and most have it - and it was very fast each time It would be nice to be able to check other scores and to look in at other games during halftime or timeouts.

Any idea about the cost of that? The athletic department is certainly not likely to provide that without a sponsor or an added ticket fee.

According to an article online, Rutgers added wifi to their bb arena in 2020. I know there is a cost. However if ISU is so concerned about music impacting fan experience, wouldn't free wifi improve it much more than playing one type of music over another.
