just we I thought we could retire Mr 'kick in the marbles' dude.

Well it appears that 10% that they were wrong about is a pretty damn big part of the story.
How do you know, where the hell you finding these facts that the other one involved is not his roomate, and the problem??????????????????

So sorry for stating an opinion. I guess we should just let that loser mentality of old continue to run rampant all over Cyclone Nation. You win. Yeah guys.... I think we will get to 2 wins this year. If we do the party will be at my house!!!!!!! Go team Go!!!!!!!

Weren't you jumping all over people for stating their opinions?

Thanks. However, all we really know is that there are possible felony charges from the use of a credit card with items being recovered, kinda vague. We will probably have to wait a day or two to hear about the specifics of what is/has happened.

I'm not sure what is vague about. He (allegedly) found/stole a credit card, (allegedly) used it to purchase stuff. Did you want specifics as to how much he stole? What he stole?

Sorry but I have never seen a confrontation in Ames, IA in which one party is at no fault. Maybe they don't deserve what they get but at some point usually they escalate things. I have seen those guys who are always working out and think they are tough start **** with players way too many times. Either they think they are tough and can back it up or in other cases they just think nothing will happen.

This was a small, non-confrontational guy who was trying to go up the stairs to his apartment where a bunch of players were blocking the stairs and would not move to let him through. So, if by being at fault means simply trying to climb the stairs to get to his apartment, then I guess you are right.

You said your sources were 90% right, well you posted this on page 5:

Just talked to a reliable source that works on campus it has to do with theft, but the search warrant turned up nothing, there is also someone else involved that may be the guilty party, but this individual is not an athlete.

Now the search warrant did turn up something where Sims lives so I assumed that would have been the 10% that they were wrong about and that is a pretty big part of this puzzle don't you think?

And I'm not saying Sims is even a part of this, but your sources didn't know everything.

No... That isn't quite accurate. I was the guy defending people who post their opinions and then have people comment stating there should be a 50 post probationary period to determine if they are worthy of CF or not. Nice try though.

While I accept your opinion as valid that we will have a losing season this year it doesn't mean that I have to like it. I won't attack your intelligence for stating your opinion either.

You wouldn't characterize this as a smart *** attack on an opinion?

That is the spirit!!!!!!! Time to forfeit all of our games and start getting ready for next year. :jimlad:

Nice try though...

I completely disagree with your opinion. I think I made that pretty clear. Notice the jimlad next to it? I figured I would help you understand the sarcasm involved. You must have missed that. Nice try though.

That's hardly a confrontation.

This is just nonsense and I'm shocked people continue to type/say that. Of course the players/staff go into the season with the expectations to win more games than lose games. Is this CyclonePlayerStaffFanatic.com? No. Again, this is a fan site.

Fans can give their logical (and often times illogical) opinions of how the season will go. If you remove the Cyclone blinders, 4-5 wins this fall is more likely than 7. Personally I think 7ish wins is attainable, but it certainly will be a tall, tall task.

Good grief..."I hope the players don't share that attitude"...whaaaawhaaaaawhaaaaa! Do people think before they type?

At any rate, on topic...I look forward to reading some actual facts about this case. Well, maybe I don't look forward to reading them if they are unfavorable. Sims is a huge part of this defense and IMO - one of if not the leader.

But if what he did warrants severe punishment, then I fully support crossing him off the list and moving on.

Whether you would like to believe it or not that attitude trickles down. Look at donations from last year to this year. Perfect example. People now think we are on the upswing so they will donate more. You win more, people donate more. That attitude does have an effect.

Not the same guy I knew. He was in a bar allegedly minding his own business when Alex Espinosa started picking a fight with him. When it got heated Alex's offensive linemen stepped in and cleaned my co-worker's clock. Now, I knew my co-worker enough to know that he probably left a few details out. He was loud and mouthy; he could be rude as well as pushy.

That being said, my understanding is that Criner's take on the whole thing was to quote a score of 1-0 in favor of his offensive players involved. A class act, that Criner.

Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the PC is located in Iowa City and the DMR is located 120 miles away and had thier own local news to cover.
  1. They are sister papers. You would think that they could share some info.
  2. It was more than a local story. ESPN carried it for crying out loud. And in the stat of Iowa...anything that happens in ISU/Iowa athletics, it is a state story. Last I checked, the Rag covers thw whole state and not just Des Moines.

Wherever I go, there I am.
LMAO, is that because you don't want to think your "sources" were wrong and make you look even worse?

From the article:

the execution of a search warrant on Sims’ Ames resident (meaning his dorm/house/apartment)

“There were some things recovered that were listed on the search warrant,” Brennan said

We don't actually know at this point if the warrant was only executed at one residence or location. Multiple places to search could be listed on the warrant. The direct quote is only that some of the things listed on the warrant were recovered.
It is Peterson's language speaking of items recovered after a search of Sims' Ames "resident" (sic).

Now it is likley that items were "recovered" from Sims' residence, but we do not know that for a fact from the article.

The Floods of 2008 were a national story as well. Would you be shocked/amazed/outraged to find out that the DM Register had more coverage then the USA Today did?
