Although I do agree ^, when the team walked along side the Jacobsen building and this song started up, it was way more electric than anything I've witnessed in the past two years.

Maybe that's do to crappy teams, but everyone in the stands was clapping and there was one thing happening. Currently, you have this giant clusterflock of trying to mix a great intro video, with an entrance song, with the fight song from the band, and 6 different things criss-crossing each other to the point I can't even tell what's going on!

Anybody else feel that way?

You pretty much summed up my thoughts exactly.

Okay, just a suggestion and feel free to throw tomatoes, but what about Alice Cooper's "No more Mr. Nice Guy!"

Or something that really scares the heck out of you like the theme tune to the Halloween movies mixed with some kick-butt hard rock tune like Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked".

Does anybody know the actual person who decides what the intro is and organizes the music, video, and the actual actions taken by the team and/or band?

I would find it hard to believe that CPR actually sits down to do all this. I would assume he delegates those duties to someone else or a department within the athletics office (PR or marketing).

Maybe JP takes care of all these plans?

Anybody know this for sure?

I get the reference, but I think at this point in time Thunderstruck has become way too cliche to break out as a "new" intro song.

Personally, if it were my decision, this would be my choice:

It has the oh-so popular disaster sirens that everyone thinks is a good idea (including me) and a tune that will get the crowd going. Plus, as far as I can tell, no one uses it, so it's something we can build a tradition out of.

As perhaps cliche or over done as Thunderstruck is, it does conote a weather event and seems to me to be an obvious choice.

For anyone who listens to Pink Floyd, don't you think One Of These Days would be a cool intro? With the sound of the wind at the beginning and the way the bass and drums build to a crescendo I think it would be pretty cool to see the Cyclones storm in when that tune starts to rock out.

Thunderstruck has been way overdone by plenty of teams. I'll pass on that. I thought Saliva was a cool choice last year. Personally I'd like to see New Noise by the Refused or the REO idea was pretty cool I like that song.

I agree 100%. When "twilight zone" come on and the players walked down the sidewalk, the entire crowd knew what was going on. Everybody was on their feet, clapping with the music. You can rag on the song all you want, but it was very electric and got people and players pumped up.

Changing our entrance and music every year since Mac left, hasn't helped at all. We need to find something and stick with it. Stop changing it every year. I don't care what song it is, just make it a good one that gets people pumped up and keep it so we can start a new tradition.

We have more smoke!:biglaugh:

Can we get rid of the inflatables and the smoke first? A tunnel of Lil Cyclone Club members is good enough. The current intro is about the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Are the Cyclones running out of Cosmic Bowling or into a College Football about to play Big 12 Football?

I still don't get why most of you don't like sweet caroline. They only play it anymore if we are up by a good margin.

It's, in my mind, one of those songs people generally love or hate and there aren't many people that fall in between with it.

Personally, I just hate it...it's a bad song and it gets on my nerves.

What about "Separate Ways" by Journey? I've always thought this would be a killer intro.

BTW, this is totally my idea and no one else has ever thought of it, especially someone with a radio show.

Awesome song! It kind of has a "rocky" feel to it.

Unfortunately I think the student section who plays along with it is what is keeping it around. On a personal note that song makes me want to slit my wrists when I am at a football game. I am pretty sure the players want something that rocks to get them jacked up for the 4th quarter. If I was a player and I turned around and saw the fans swaying and holding hands I would probably be looking to transfer immediately.

Playing Sweet Caroline at a football game is about as stupid as those jackasses you see out having a wine tasting with cheese and crackers at JTS and calling it tailgating. It is pathetic.

I want the players paying attention to the coaches yelling at them please.
