Before getting too bent (I know, too late, right?) out of shape about KU staying put and ISU dropping keep in mind that while KU lost at OSU, they also handled a top 15 team pretty handily at home last week. ISU dropped one to KU and then played the worst team in the Big 12 at home.

Yeah, it would have been nice to recognize that the loss was in an arena that no one wins in, but I don't think it is anything to lose your cookies over.

Arizona and Notre Dame both had bigger cushions in the poll last week, while the teams below ISU were pretty close points-wise. It would have taken quite a few more vote and ranking changes for them to drop 3 spots like ISU did.

I also wonder if being the only game on at the time hurt ISU more because more CBB people see the loss. That Duke-UND game was effectively over before people on the West Coast had their morning coffee.

This... ND had a 200 point cushion on ISU. That's huge. ND lost a lot of support but no one below them had a good enough resume to move ahead of them when looking at 65 different opinions.

Oh and its 4 points between the two. I guess **** Vitale is on the boycott list again because he has UNI 6 spots above ISU.

Serious question because I haven't paid any attention to them this year. Who, other than WSU (most overrated team in CBB) did the pantherhoks beat?

RPI top 100 wins include: @Stephen F Austin, Iowa, Richmond, @Illinois State, Wichita State

Notable double OT loss @VCU (#9 RPI)

So losing to a higher ranked team on the road and doubling the score of a power 5 conference team causes a drop? I figured 11/12.

Moral of the story is to play the weakest non-conference schedule because it doesn't matter in the eyes of the AP voters.

Well the AP poll doesn't matter to anything tournament related so you probably shouldn't be crafting a schedule just to move up in a meaningless poll.

Not to mention coming off a 40 point win off a team 10 times better than Illinois State, whom UNI beat by 1

Based on this weeks drop, a loss tonight will probably put the hoks ahead of us next week.

It could happen yet this year. The butthurt on this board might be epic. If we struggle on the road and with 5 road games left we could drop out entirely and watch UNI in the top 10 and Iowa in the top 20 with both their easy remaining schedules.

Unless they trip up and we get crazy hot, UNI will be above us for the rest of the season. Better learn to accept it whether right or wrong.

UNI will go up because other teams lose.....to teams better than ANYONE in the MVC.
