Someone should really get to them (Athletic Department) and maybe even shoot an email to the owner of Hooter's who is an ISU alum I believe. I could go for Hooters South End-Zone...and even serve hooters wings at the games!!! Although, I'd be in the restroom more than I would the game lol

Trust me, the athletic department is in contact with Ed Droste. He is a big booster for ISU. Hooters was a major sponsor of ISU football when Jim Walden was head coach.

Maybe we can funnel some of that Nike money to ISU.

Link

I'm afraid that bio is out of date. I've had the opportunity to talk with Mike on several occasions, and last I talked to him (last spring) he had left Nike to pursue an opportunity with a furniture company. The guy had the "Champions" t-shirts for every loser of the Final Four going back many years, don't know how one could give up such power!

Anyways, it was a step up for him professionally, but it probably won't help ISU's cause for sports sponsorships.

20 Million would be a huge surge. I mean huge. We should never remove Jack Trice's name from the football field but honestly... for 20 mil, we'd need to consider any option.

I wouldn't care if each endzone was filled in with a picture of the principal building and their current stock price each week for 20 mil. I mean that would be huge. Practice facility would almost be ready to go for that much.

The already have principal park for the ICubs, why would they name a second athletic arena after them. And they are throwing a ton of money down on the riverfront revitalization near the ball park.

I just dont see it happening. I wish it would happen though. Sure they wouldnt want to do Hilton? It holds more events. But football is king anymore in Iowa, at least with the way most in state teams are playing the last few years.

I agree that 20 million would be an awesome surge - I can't imagine it's any more than a one-time gift, but that would still be awesome as far as getting the facilities ball rolling even more. I'm with a lot of the others in that Hilton and Jack Trice need to stay. Principal Field at Jack Trice Stadium doesn't sound too bad though, or just about any other facility/area/structure you can think of.

I still like the idea of Hooters as a major sponsor, anyone else? It would be unique.

If it helps the quality of cheerleaders, I'm all for it.

As for Principal, if the check clears the bank, it's fine with me.

I would love for that to happen. Principal wouldnt sound bad for a field name. It really doesnt sound too bad when compared to some of the other naming rights that other schools have sold. For twenty million we could have a bowled in endzone and move the statue of Jack Trice to the front of the stadium and have a seating gathering area that tells the story of jack trice. That would be a great way of honoring jack trice......by having a legit DI stadium that looks absolutely awesome.

I am all for this as long as it isn't the stadium's name and rather Principle endzone or field or what not. I have always thought that other colleges (Creighton and Nebraska) I have seen play have had more big name corporate sponsors than ISU. Not in terms on naming rights, but advertisements etc.

I'd be very shocked to see PFG do this without doing similar deals with Iowa and/or Drake. I was with them for over a decade and they seemed very concered (IMO) about their image within the city, state, and among their employees. I doubt they would risk upsetting fans of the other big schools by aligning themselves only with ISU. Would be great though, and their former CEO (Drury) was an ISU grad. I'll be glad to be wrong in this though!!!

HAHA that would be funny if they keep renaming my teams stadiums! IMO no one will forget about Jack Trice and its all about money these days so I really hope this happens!!!

Assuming this is true...
I'm all for it, as long as Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum don't get renamed.
Principal Field, doesn't sound too bad. Or Principal Practice Facilities.

No amount of money would make me want to change the name of the stadium or coliseum, those things are priceless imo. Of course we all know who Jack Trice is, but what about outsiders? It's an honor to have somebody as the stadium name, especially Jack who passed away. Which is a priceless honor.

But $20 million should buy almost anything else.

I think the Principal triangle would look a lot better than the O'Reilly Auto Parts logo that's plastered over everything at Texas Tech.

For 20 mill put their logo on the 50 yard line. Good way to pay for a bb facality.
