I am fine with NIL but it should be prohibited until you have been at school for 2 years and have an actual brand or likeness to sell. (Or 1 and a junior for transfers). This would shut down the crazyness

NCAA has already made tons of arbitrary rules over the years. This would be tone deaf and illegal anyways.

What's wild to me is Georgia probably signs 3 guys like Isheem Young every year. If he goes there, it's a real possibility he doesn't get on the field. What a waste that would be..

Time to reload in the portal. Bedsides Isheem there wasn’t too many guys I was mad about leaving. King isn’t a concern at safety because there is so much talent there. Also some of our most highly rated safety recruits ever are coming in. Watch out for Trevon Howard. I think he seems some action in the fall.

Do you have a link to this? Haven’t heard anything along those lines and it has nothing to do with title 9
Yeah Google title 9 inequality. It is real and profound. I like you but you are a little kid with yiur reality. Litigators are coming. People that know that nil Is broken is much closer than you know.
Ps I like you efforts but you are so wrong it hurts. Like little boy stay away

Freyler is better than Isheem, specially in coverage. Writing was on the wall for him.
Isheem is probably the best run stuffing safety I've seen at Iowa State (may be showing my age a bit here) but has never really been much of a playmaker in the passing game iirc. Would not shock me if Freyler playing as much as he has had a little bit to do with Isheem leaving, although I'm sure he'll basically get to name the school he wants to play for and will likely want to be near his girlfriend and child if info I've seen on other threads is correct.

Freyler being as good as he has been already as a true freshman is pretty special. Taking any snaps away from a player as good as Isheem says a lot about where he is now and the potential he has moving forward.

I don't know the reasons why kids leave...could be any number of things. At the end of the day, we're all sitting here typing on keyboards because our odds of making in the pros was nearly the same as theirs, only we weren't playing at their level, or at all.

IF it's the NIL piece, they'll only get a small amount for a short time...none of them are going to get rich. I hope they are all looking beyond the years of football because they'll be more like us in 5-10 years than they know. :)

If coaches are promising kids things they won't end up with, that's a shame...but remember, every college football program is a business, nothing more...and it's part of a bigger business that the NCAA controls...so they don't give a **** about these guys. They'll lie, cheat and steal to make the balance sheet look right and get paid...but in the end, the stats don't lie.

For those who didn't come to this thread until the overnight hours or this morning, after some momentary panic yesterday afternoon numerous plugged in people have said good news is forthcoming that will soften this blow and the exodus isn't as bad as it looks.

This is where I'm sitting. He will be missed, but we will be fine.

I can't seem to find the "snaps played" category in the game logs, but it sure seemed to me like Isheem was seeing less and less of the field as the season went on. Sure seems like McDonald and Freyler took began to demand alot of snaps.

I am late to the thread so I appreciate this. My first reaction to those speculating about these "portal players" knowing a coach...or THE coach might be leaving is just highly unlikely! I mean...CMC or Heacock might end up going somewhere but once they told a player or two it would be out! Never be kept a secret! No way did CMC tell IY "I am not going to be here next year".
