Iowa, UL, any close matchup.

If we had an OC and ST coordinator performing at Heacock's level, we'd have a couple 10 win seasons already. That momentum opportunity cost is tangible, and given the impact of branding and perception with realignment looming, the current OC being average is costly

well said, problem is we need to win now with this realignment, and Saturday was a giant lost opportunity that we can’t get back

well in a perfect world, sure. But Campbell is not a perfect coach and the players are not perfect.

it is ******* lunacy that we actually have people questioning matt campbell. He is far and away the best coach we’ve ever had. We should all be praying every night that he doesn’t leave.

The worst part is these same people saying he’s not that good will be ready to go after Jamie when he leaves.

i was at that game so I certainly wasn’t posting in that thread.

I did think it appeared that no one coaching had seen the game of football before. I was obviously wrong! And I’m not ******** about Campbell now unlike a not insignificant portion of this board.

and why shouldn’t Nate be nurturing a relationship with pollard?

Didn’t you indicate that we would only be able to get a coordinator from the Group of 5 after calling for Campbell’s head on Year 1? I’m done grilling you on this, but hopefully you on just as right on T.J. as you were about Campbell. It would be great to have both programs in the Top 25 by the time 2023 rolls around.

Weather we finish 10-2, 9-3 or 8-4 isn’t going to make or break this realignment.
Maybe not this year, but nothing spikes ratings and perception more than wins. A few 10 win seasons goes a long ways for an institution otherwise well positioned.

Vick changed the course of Va Tech. Louisville converted success into a better brand and the ACC. So did TCU.

Matt blamed himself in the post game but it was clear he wasn’t happy with the offense.

Not sure what you do here, Tom pretty clearly needs some help in a lot of areas and I don’t think firing him solves anything. He just has to get better. Might just need band aids until the year is over, then see what happens with who is here and who is not.

This is why Matt gets paid what he does.

its a real mess though, nobody is denying that.
"its a real mess though, nobody is denying that".....I AGREE, the Offense is a Real Mess while the Defense is the Best in the Big 12

We have seen about the most under center play calls this year in probably the last 15 years. People don’t go under center anymore.

The reality is Tom Manning is the best OC we have had in a long time. I do think offensive scheme is a problem and it’s always the same problem of not playing to our strengths in some games. As others have said we saw that when he wasn’t here too so that tells me changing OC isn’t going to change anything.

We played like crap on offense yesterday but it was a group effort. The offensive gameplan restricted us. Our receivers didn’t do a good job of getting open or making catches. Purdy didn’t do a good job of making decisions and Breece made an awful mistake. There was no one thing that you could have changed that would have changed the result. They just were not ready to go.

The real problem is YOU CAN'T BEAT IOWA EVER BY RUNNING THEIR OFFENSE!!

The only time we ran hurried up offense was right before half and it worked really well maybe we should have used it more to change pace of the game! Plus use our depth to our advantage!

ISU doesn't run Iowa's offense. It's just similar in intentions.

What kind of offenses do WI and NW run? Last I checked they weren't exactly Oregon 2011.

Coordinators always make convenient fall guys. Maybe it's the M in Manning and Messingham. Try a Q, R, S, or T maybe? Every fan base does this - blast the coordinator(s) first, then move on to the head dude.
