ok, sorry about not doing my homework. I thought louisiana lafayette was a 1AA school, thank you for reminding me they are clearly not.

And sorry it was a few weeks before, and on the road none the less.

Does that change the fact that kansas state doesn't always play well against sh*tty teams only to turn around and beat *a good one?

They also played Texas Tech and lost 66-14 then turned around the next week to beat A&M 62-14. So comparing week to week is pretty arbitrary for them IMO.

Totally agree. I was slightly irritated with how we played against NIU. We jumped out to an early 17-0 lead and then we just started sitting on the ball trying to run clock like Mac used to do. We don't have a defense that is going to be able to consistently stop our opponents offense so no matter what the score is our offense needs to keep their ******* foot on the gas and always continue to try and score. We can't afford to grab a lead and then milk the clock and hope our D can continually keep the other team out of the end zone. Sorry... this offense needs to be aggressive and looking to score every time they have the ball even if we are up 3 or 4 scores. We can't afford to ever let up.

Yeah this is starting to have a 2006 feel doesn't it? The offense has to carry the defense, and they are bogging down like crazy. Think if A Rob hadn't had that 60 yard run what the offensive stats would look like.

I don't get why the tempo of this spread/no huddle offense is so slow. I watch them do something positive, then they line up, and instead of going after the other team they assume the same passive stance that puts the o back on their heels, and bogs them down.

As far as this game, I am pretty sure that when the coaches got together Saturday night for drinks, they were pretty concerned about how this team competed against Iowa. Last year, the d played pretty well for most of the game, and the o-line held their own. This year there wasn't one positive thing (other than maybe Kirby's punting) to build from.

IF this team competes better, and the offense can establish itself early, we can win this game. If we see this group throw in the towel as soon at they get thrown around, then this season could go quickly.

Someone said that they didn't believe that last year's coaching job was a fluke, I agree with that, but I don't think that it will matter this week. The O still bogs down, and we see some more turnovers.

In the past 2 years, I'm not sure I have seen ISU play a COMPLETE game. I want to see that this game. It seemed last years game they got behind late and were forced to play with urgency. This happened in a few games (Kansas and Mizzou as well). They need to play with that urgency the entire game. They need to have this mentality:

Colorado
24-23 ISU

The Cyclones lead 24-17 when Kansas State scores a touchdown on a long desperation pass that is miraculously caught. The ensuing PAT is blocked and the Clones hang on for the win.

Call me a kool aide drinker or whatever, but I just don't think ksu is that good. I put their defense below NIU. There run game is good and my cause us trouble. I do not believe the pass game of theirs is that good. I am not a defensive coordinator, but if I had to call the game, I would start and go nickle most of the time. Keep what experience we have on the field. I would put the nose tackle and defensive tackle on each side of the center. The two line backers in the gap between guard and tackle both sides, and the DE on the outside of the tackles and force ksu to pass. Put the safties 5 yards behind the 6 man defensive line and simply make sure there is no where to run. If they pull guard or center, the gap made should allow the linebackers to get in the backfield and cause trouble. Simply put more guys there than they can block. This means that Benton, Johnson, and Reeves will have to do servicable in 1 on 1 tight line coverage, and we will have to limit the time the QB has to throw with 6 guys rushing. I know we cannot do this all game, but it will throw them off and may even cause them to burn their time outs.

My predictions is the offense gets to work out the demons it has and the defense plays press, and gets burned once in awhile, but slows ksu down most of the time. Final score, ISU 37 ksu 20.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we lost tomorrow. Coffman is terrible and Thomas can't win every game for us. I expect a very close game tomorrow.

I'm gonna go with ISU 23 KSU 17.

Sadly, I am no longer able to make it. Was really looking forward to going down to KC:sad:

On a related note, I was at the Iowa game last weekend and heard from SEVERAL unrelated sources that the Iowa vs Nebraska series may be billed "Farmageddon." ARE YOU ******* KIDDING ME!!! There will only ever be one Farmageddon.

I work with an Ohio State fan, with whom I was discussing the conference realignment stuff with, and he brought up how he heard about the Nebraska-Iowa game being called "Farmageddon", and thought that was hilarious.

I made sure to correct him that it was ISU-KSU fans who came up with it for OUR series, and that it doesn't make ANY sense because IOWA ISN'T A ******* AG SCHOOL.

I swear, if I hear anything like that when Nebraska plays Iowa...

**** YOU NEBRASKA, **** YOU IOWA, and **** YOU NATIONAL MEDIA.
