Why is it so hard to take just one of the above and do a throwback once a year more often. I'd be good with any of those. Yes, we used mid 70s logo once a number of years back but lets try some of the others. I love block ISU look from the early 80s.
$$$$$$ unless you are talking about just helmet logos then yes it would not be hard.
They make plenty of money to be able to afford to do this. And/or I'm sure there is some alum who's jones'n for it that they can all and get daddy fork it over.
Speaking of having more 'throwbacks', we currently have generic White and Cardinal helmets and pants, yes. No stripes. Why not simply reproduce a semi-replica jersey (even slightly modified), jersey only, from the different eras. Optional would be a replica helmet decal or stickers, but they could even skip that.

Just having a replica, or near replica jersey, with the current color scheme, would be fantastic and very doable. It would be very cheap, if cost is an issue, and it probably is now.

Give the jerseys to the players (like they did with the whole Trice uniforms last year). Or, have a year-end sale to the fans, for the jerseys. You'd get much of your money back for sure then. If you give them to players, great, they deserve it, and you will get that money back from them, in time, with their alumni donations anyway.

This would be much cheaper than the 100 year Trice anniversary uniform of last year. They had to purchase a whole set of pants for every team member dressed out. Ordering a replica jersey, with no pants, would be quite inexpensive, relatively.

It would also create super fan interest and be a lot of fun. Even just doing it every other year, or every third year, would be great. Mix it up, have some fun. Isn't that what our new Big 12 Commish is saying? Find more ways to be relevant, create fan interest.

I think an annual "throwback game" of sorts would be a great thing.

They could do anything from just a logo, to other uniform parts as you mentioned.

They could do a lot with it, and making it a tradition, gives them a chance to do other things at the same time. Special throwback replica jersey sales, clothing sales with limited edition looks. Bring back alumni, all kinds of things.

Like you say it could drive fan interest and engagement.

I wanted to do this for you. Too dark for my taste, and going this dark won't ever happen. But hey.
I am in agreement that these are too dark. The I-State looks okay on the white background, but I imagine it wouldn't look as good on a cardinal background, or with the colors inverted on a gold background.

For the punching Cy, I would rather just make the entire outline black. We should only use 1 cardinal in our logos.

So is campbell wearing the whirly bird just nothing? From the CW/Blum pod it sounds like ISU doesn't even own that logo anymore. I would give my middle nut if we just simply slapped that decal on a helmet, and the orrnado

Sounds like Champion, or whoever, owns the rights to use that logo on retail merchandise but I would think the football team can put it on the helmet whenever they want.

Not sure Campbell would be allowed to put the Cloneado on the helmets, per the AD. We have a ways to go before we get there.

Wearing unofficial logos on clothing appears to be allowed. I doubt it would be allowed with the FB staff on game day, however. I could be wrong.

My vote would be the unbeveled I-State logo with the darker Cardinal and Gold shades and the pumped fist Cardnado color corrected to match this I-State logo View attachment 132522 . View attachment 132521
ISU Logo Cardnado1d for cykadelic2(HisVeryDarkCardinal,HisDarkGold).jpg
Cykadelic2, here is a cleaned up version (I wanted to do that anyway) of your request, or close to it. Pretty dark, which again, isn't happening.

I will play around with the I-State and Punching Cy some more, this time with our standard gold/yellow for I-State (I'll throw in university gold also, which is darker), and lighter shades for the Punching Cynado.

S**t posting Fridays....the Sketches are low key nice tho, I regret mocking those.
We will keep the I-State primary logo for as long as JD remains AD, and we should.

Whenever a new AD comes along he or she would be wise to keep it also, at least for the near to intermediate future. It is the best thing we have done for branding in the past 50 years, for a university that has struggled mightily with that concept in its history.

I do look forward to adding multiple secondary logos, after we ditch the ones we have.

Jokers. How can they be this bad in everything. Huge population center. Cool atmosphere. Name brand coaches.
When you hire an incompetent, underqualified AD and he makes an absolutely awful hire of a supposed name brand FB coach (amongst other hires), you set yourself up to suck.

I think their 2nd year FB HC will end up being a good hire and Bobby Hurley has upgraded his roster to potentially improve their MBB program this season.
