I don't see us pumping the brakes at all during this game. We are a better team than last year, Iowa is worse, we killed them on the road last year, expecting similar to last year. Iowa State takes this one with 91 points while only surrendering 68 to Iowa.

All I know is that the last year or so, ISU has proven it can beat some of the best.......and lose to some of the worst. They come in focused like last year, no brainer.....it's a double digit win. They lose focus, try and make too many ESPN top tens......they lose.

McKay is good enough to keep them honest, and going to him forces them to sag from the perimeter, which opens up our shooters.
McKay might have some things on Woodbury, but nothing I saw from the Colorado and Buffalo games indicated that McKay posting up could score on Woody consistently.

Iowa State has much better options that they can/should exploit.

The spread will continue to rise until tip-off.

No worries in this one boys, Naz goes off and Iowa State wins 87-71.

This ISU team isn't losing in Hilton to this Iowa team. I don't see how people are worried about this at all. Earlier this afternoon the morons on 1700 were trying to act like Iowa won't have a problem with Hilton because "they play in a power 5 league and all these guys have played in front of big crowds before." Not even close to the same as to what they're going to see tomorrow night.

i would say long experience makes us nervous...

I agree. But I think Woody sits quite a bit in this game IF ISU starts running. Iowa is going to have to hit shots early to keep that from happening so they can stick with their usual lineup.

Even though Iowa has had some impressive wins, I still would have thought it would at least -8 to start

Why do we even play Iowa? It's their superbowl. If we win, so what, we were supposed to win. If they win, it absolutely KILLS us! If Iowa wins, their season is automatically a success. If Iowa wants to play us, the game should be in Hilton every year.

Did I get them all?

Agreed. McKay is at his best being a garbage man.

The line is now 7.5 at the Westgate.

Sagarin says it should be 6.5 or 7 after applying a standard home-court advantage. I think 7.5 is pretty much spot on with a Hilton bump which is at least an above average advantage. It may be just a little low and ISU by 8 would be more expected. But close.

I just hope we don't have disappointed posts here after the game about "only" winning by 7 if that does come to pass.

I think it was a 15 point win last year, but it really didn't feel like it was that close. Go by the eye test.

I mean, I don't expect to be underdogs in Lubbock this year, but the eye test from last year's game would show that. That's just not how it works.

I expect Jok to try to prove that he is a premier player ... and since he isn't, it will cause EIU to fall apart in the second half!

also, for every minute over 20 that Woodbury plays, we will win by 2 points. I'm predicting he plays 35 with the score being ISU 90-60.

Sons of Ames! Of Des Moines! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when **** Iowa is not said, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of Hawks and taverns when Hilton comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we **** Iowa! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you **** Iowa!

You miss the point. The ball needs to go in there to keep Iowa honest on the perimeter. He doesn't have to score a ton off post ups. He just needs to make them take it into account.
