Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....if people drink all day, then attend a 3 hour football game, without drinking, how will they still be drunk when they get in the car to drive home (also taking into account that with traffic you likely will be in gridlock traffic until AT LEAST 4 hours after the scheduled kickoff time)?

I'm not sure how alcohol works for you, but for most people, it tends to wear off significantly over time, and is generally completely gone after a number of hours. If you were drinking so hard that you're still smashed 4 hours later, then you likely spent the intervening period of time in an ER somewhere and not in a stadium.

Must be a miracle.

Alcohol takes much longer than 3-4 hours to dissolve out of the system after doing something like drinking all day.

I would recommend you read more things and can say it MAY be a miracle you're still alive if you believe what you wrote.

Yeah, to say that you can drink all day and then quit during the game and be fine to drive is beyond stupid. People do it, and usually end up fine, but it's dangerous for sure. I'm not going to say that night games should be banned or anything. They're fun for pretty much everyone. But don't be surprised if a big game like this being at night leads to more accidents and arrests. Honestly, I'd be happy if someone put this series out of its misery.

And it's even worse if they allow you to leave at halftime to drink some more, like they do at ISU. I'm a Cyclone fan to the bone, but their policy of allowing fans to leave at halftime and come back is beyond stupid. At least Iowa does this part right.

It's also beyond embarrassing when our team comes out after halftime to a half empty stadium because our "fans" are out in the parking lot trying to slam one more beer.

I think it's a great rule!

I know, I know.... "Hey, I pay big money to be a bad fan... I have that right!!!".

Funny how we poke fun at Hawkeye fans drinking issues, but at ISU we can't even go an entire game without more alcohol in our system. "Screw the team.... I need some more Busch Light!".

Last year's ISU-Iowa game was a prime example, we were looking pretty good at halftime, then our team comes out of halftime to a half filled stadium and there was this huge lull, and Iowa proceeds to dominate us and put the game away. I'm not saying it's the reason we lost, but it sure didn't help any.

I'm as big as ISU fan as you can find and the last few years that Busch Light was needed to make it through what was going to happen in the second half

We were in a LOT of games at halftime last year, but then fell apart in the 2nd half.

If ISU were to not allow people to leave at halftime and come back in, and our ticket sales went in the tank, that would be a very embarrassing statement about our fanbase IMO. All we care about is drinking... football means nothing to us.

Exactly why I needed a halftime beer, it's not like I didn't know it was coming

Not is not true for me but I still enjoy going out at halftime

If we fielded a team that competed I feel less people would jump ship so soon. What's been embarrassing is the start of the 2nd half through the finish of the game when our team doesn't show up whatsoever.

Maybe if they were able to play well and actually put a game away in the second half instead of the total collapses that did happen, that would entice fans to get back in the stadium sooner???
