Forgot about him. 3 in 21 years

Being All Big12 doesn't count for much. The Big12 over the last 20 years = Mountain West. Nobody thinks Mountain West QB's or Big12 QB's numbers are legit against those pretend defenses.

Purdy couldn't beat out Kempt or Noland, he was handed the job because of injury and how bad and ineffective Noland was. I mean we are talking a non NFL guy, and a FCS QB here. CMC lost an all important Big12 game handing Noland the reins over Purdy. Against TCU CMC stuck with Noland and his 14-28 for 79 yards instead of going to Purdy. YIKES!

I can see why Twins thinks CMC is a Hall of Fame caliber coach. But really is the isu Hall of Fame really that meaningful?

2nd team: Brock Purdy

Iowa's last second team or better:

What is incorrect about what I said? Purdy couldn't beat out a healthy Kempt, and CMC took a conference loss playing a FCS QB over Purdy.

Purdy was a freshman who didn't enroll early. I don't think anyone expected him to start day one. They knew he wasn't going to redshirt though

Twins is going back his strategy of trying to win insignificant battles. When you have nothing else.....

So I am correct he didn't beat out Kempt, but only took over because of injury. Thanks for confirming!

Of course the coaches knew he was going to play. With as bad as an OL isu had, they needed 4 QB’s to be ready to play.

YIKES! He must be awful if he couldn't beat out an established starter his Fr. season.

Twins will go with a pick and choose type of reply. He is really good at telling us how bad Iowa is or does things but for some reason refuses to apply the same criteria to isu.

Wonder why that is.

If you're comparing him to Petras he enrolled early and redshirted. He had 2.5 years to win the job. Lol what a horrible comparison

Stare with me 10 situation throughout college football where a Fr. beat out a 3 year returning starting QB who was drafted into the NFL?

I mean Petras is gonna be good, but even all time greats at QB didn't all just come in and start at QB right away over NFL Draft picks.

There's no way they "knew" he wasn't going to redshirt. C'mon. If things had been going better with Kempt or Noland he never would've played.

They played him in the Akron game. They knew before the Iowa game he wasn't going to redshirt

You think it's uncommon for a player to lose his job after one year as a starter where he was mediocre to a freshman who enrolled early?
