In the most OLD Iowa State way possible . . tie game, they had a field goal attempt blocked as time expired and returned for a TD to lose the game.

IW beat previously 1st place Mcneese State tonight. 3 way tie for conference lead.
The team IW beat was ranked 6th too. The next 3 weeks they play at #22, host #10, and at #15. They’ll have to win all 3 of those to have a shot at the playoff. They’re 4-3 with 3 games to play besides ISU.
6-4 is not gonna cut it and likely 7-3 won’t either. That Lamar loss is really freaking bad. Like losing to a MAC school and hoping to make the FBS playoff

It's probably my nut cup talking but I genuinely do not feel all warm and fuzzy about this IW game. I'm not saying we'll lose but I'm not gonna feel comfortable until if and when we're up by like 5 TDs.
ISU is MUCH, MUCH better than IW and the game should not be close.
Problem is, that doesn't always mean it will turn out that way. You're talking about a bunch of college aged kids playing a game here. And if your team just can't find the energy to get up for playing an Incarnate Word football team, you can easily lose.
I'd rather win out, have a few other teams help us out, and wind up playing in Arlington on 12/1 than play Incarnate Word.
I dont know about a 5 TD win, but ISU should take care of business comfortably. I look for a lot of young players to get some serious playtime
If IWU continues their winning ways, what are the chances they make the FCS Playoffs? Sorry if this has already been asked, I'm not as up to date on my Southland Conference athletics.
