The team IW beat was ranked 6th too. The next 3 weeks they play at #22, host #10, and at #15. They’ll have to win all 3 of those to have a shot at the playoff. They’re 4-3 with 3 games to play besides ISU.

6-4 is not gonna cut it and likely 7-3 won’t either. That Lamar loss is really freaking bad. Like losing to a Purdue school and hoping to make the FBS playoff

Fixed it for you!

ISU is MUCH, MUCH better than IW and the game should not be close.

Problem is, that doesn't always mean it will turn out that way. You're talking about a bunch of college aged kids playing a game here. And if your team just can't find the energy to get up for playing an Incarnate Word football team, you can easily lose.
True for a Paul Rhoads coached team, but with this team it would take a hell of a lousy performance to lose to IW. Idk anyone would be concerned of that.

Incarnate Word is getting votes in the FCS poll this week.

"Others receiving votes: Maine, 17; Southeast Missouri St., 17; Chattanooga, 14; Idaho St., 12; Florida A&M, 7; Rhode Island, 7; UIW, 5; Montana St., 3."

For comparison purposes, UNI got 104 points and SDSU 443 points (even after UNI destroyed them).

Yep. UIW would be 32. UNI is 23.

Next three games for UIW.
#19 Nichols (Beat Kansas)
#22 Sam Houston State
#14 Cental Arkansas

This new UIW coach is legit.

Could this game be cancelled if we are bowl elgible?

No. Only way it doesn't happen is if either team makes their conference championship. It is in the contract.

Plus, let's say we have 6 wins, wouldn't 7 wins look more attractive to prospective bowls? Or if we have 7, wouldn't 8 look even better?

Not necessarily. Bowl committees are aware of things like cancelled games. Poll voters and talking heads are not.
