Thought I would mention, another thing that makes Scenario popular these days is Fat Amy rapped it in the Pitch Perfect 2. Those are actually pretty good movies.
I think Eazy E also covered it. I'm pretty sure it was in that order, not the reverse.
Haven't seen either of those although saw a commercial for the second one and am blaming it for my Packers sucking now.

Way off hip hop topic, but it reminds me of the theory of relative Cubness (you know, the more ex Cubs on your team, the more likely you will blow it). The Packers have crossed an uncomfortable level of ex Hawkeyes.

I was pretty young (9) when YO! MTV Raps started. At first I really wasn't into rap and hip-hop. I was in a hard rock/heavy metal phase. Then a few years later groups like Tribe Called Quest, Arrested Development, and others really got to me. It became a lot more mainstream, but not played out. It was cool for a white kid to like it as well.
I wish I could go back to the late 80's/early 90s and really listen to hip-hop from the start.
