I'd say it's pretty easy to go undefeated

when you get to shoot 20-30 more free throws than your opponent in every game!

What's not very impressive is that when there is that kind of disparity that you only beat the other team by 5.

You're blaming the refs? Really?

That was a very evenly called game. The difference is they got the ball down low and we did not. Simple as that.

Yeah, they pound it inside, we don't...they are always going to shoot more free throws the way we are currently constructed. Lot of time I have felt KU gets a lot of calls, felt like it was pretty fair tonight, or as fair as it can be.

I don't believe I said that we lost because of officiating. My statement was pretty simple. "It's easy to go undefeated when you attempt 20-30 more FTs than the opponent." It's not that impressive that the outcome is a 5pt win. Kansas benefits from reputation on every court...until tournament time. They will not go deep in the tourney.

Come on! I really hate this saying, but it is about the most appropriate thing I can come up with right now.

Just Don't be that guy!

You sound like a bitter pathetic loser. It was a fine fine game. Our guys gave it their all, and just came up short. I really think that we had to play a perfect game with a healthy SC and neither happened, but they played a great game. About 330 different opponents and we are winners tonight. The guys played very well, just not quite enough given the players we have available at this pt, and just a couple of misteaks made the difference.

Kansas deserves this win. There was nothing bad about how they played and just flat out beat us and played a good game. Just walk away.

Come on now! You cannot blame every game on the refs. If we play tougher defense we win the ballgame. Certain players think that we can outscore the #3 team in the nation without having to get after it on D or at least ATTEMPTING to rebound the ball. Lets worry about what we can control and not what we can't.

I was actually going to go the opposite route. At no time did I feel that the refs were favoring Kansas. In fact, the refs did us a favor by keeping a tight leash under the basket. If they allowed the physical play this would have gotten ugly. we had a lot of drives that could have gotten calls, but we need to do a better job of being under control to get those calls consistently.

My only concerns were the two ticky-tack fouls called on Godfrey no where near the ball. I really didn't see if they were legit calls or not, but Godfrey getting two quick fouls like that sucked.

Who said anything about the refs being bad? I thought it was pretty fair. They let things get a little physical but that probably helped us out given our lack of depth.

What I don't understand is why we kept moving away from the zone when it actually showed a few signs of life, unlike man2man.

It's apparent that our education system is failing...we seem to have a comprehension problem going on here. Nowhere in my statement do I blame the loss on officiating.

Ignore KU/ISU for a moment. Now, understand the statement. IT IS EASY TO GO UNDEFEATED WHEN YOU SHOOT 20-30 MORE FTs THAN YOUR OPPONENT. Interpretation, if you can get to the line 20-30 more times than your opponent, you should win the game. Nowhere in that statement did I say they should not have been at the line. Do we agree????

Now, the second statement.....it's not that impressive to only come away with a 5 point win. That's fairly easy to comprehend..???

I read teh OP and didn't feel he was blaming refs. KU is getting to the line more than opponents. They did that again tonight but yet only one by 5.

You do not understand. If they don't shoot that many free throws, they blow us out tonight with easy baskets. Going 1-2 at the line or 0-2 at the line keeps ISU in it. Letting them score gets the team murdered. You need an education in how basketball works.

i finally dont think the refs screwed us this time around. it was a good game and we came up a little short. the predictions were right when they said we would get hammered in big 12 play since we dont have a big guy down low. marcus morris proved that tonight by putting up 33 on us. if CFH can get a big guy next like we had w/ jared homan and we can start getting 30-40 points in the paint and a few more offensive putbacks we could easily be a tourney team next season.

Exactly! They even made the point during the broadcast to point out that KU is averaging 23 FTs per game. They have many blowouts, but the USC game and tonight they pulled it out, but not that impressively. I think this is the typical KU team that will exit the dance prematurely.

I love the fact that we haven't been blown off the floor this season. Our guys fight, but they were outgunned in the post tonight.

Again, if your team can get 20-30 FTs per night, you should be stomping the opponent...

Uh the difference in free throws comes directly from the fact that their big men played in position on defense and we did not. Some is inexperience and some is JVB.
