I think it’s safe to say

I've been a loud Prohm critic on here, but Im really pleased with the way he's coaching right now, he's really gotten this team to re-focus and buy in on team basketball. I wish he would be more proactive though, he seems to wait until his hand is forced to make a change.

THT is a perfect example last night, guy is killing us on the offensive end, so yank him when he does a couple stupid things in a row, sit him down and explain to him we want more ball movement.

And for the life of me I still don't know why we cant draw up a solid inbounds play. Last night we had a long timeout, we pass the ball in for an immediate NBA range 3 with a guy in his face. That's the second time in 3 games they've ran that exact play and it ends up a low percentage shot.

Prohm has many faults like any coach.

He’s done a good job at Iowa State. This year has had some tough times for sure. However, I think many fans overrate our talent level and underrate our youth.

I don’t think we win tonight, however if they can win a game or two in the NCAA’s I think we all need to look at this season as a resounding success.

Honestly, it already is a resounding success. Before the season most were hopeful we’d be a bubble team with a shot to make the tourney. And then when Wiggi got hurt in the first game, most thought we were toast. Now we’re in the Big 12 tourney championship, we’re a lock for the NCAAs and we’re fighting for a 6 or maybe even 5 seed if the cards fall right. While it would suck to lose today and be disappointing to lose in the first round next week, this season overall has been a resounding success.

If I'm being honest I agree, but I jumped on the success train pretty hard early.

A lot of people did.

Relax, and enjoy the ride. Big 12 ship tonight, NCAAs next week. And after that, we got to see some promising underclassmen this year, and should be excited to see how they develop for next year's team.

I agree with you. There are times I’ve had to really try to take a step back and remember what the actual expectations were, especially when we were staring down the gun of Wiggi and Young injured and Lard and Talley suspended early.

I heard that too. Fran is a great color guy. How many analysts would recognize that?
He’s a true student of the game, he goes to games he wants to watch on his off time and must put in a ton of time studying film. It really shows why he’s the best in the business when he can speak intelligently about most conferences, as opposed to morons like Dakich who only watch the Big 10 and declare it the best because that’s all they’ve seen.

I am hoping to see Shayok zeroed in again. You could see when Jacobson got that crazy rebound off MS miss towards the end and got a second shot that went down, it stepped up his attitude. He then went on to sink that impossible 3 on the next possession. Confidence is the biggest key to this team’s success.

THT is a classic freshman to me who is used to being the most physically gifted player on the court. He hasn't really learned how to turn it up a notch without making more turnovers, forcing more shots, or having more fouls.

And he's used to getting inside at will but good college teams can stop him at least some of the time. If he get's stopped once, he's got to have the ability to pass out and continue working hard to try driving again. Plus he almost always wants to drive starting from standing still rather than moving without the ball.

I just want to see Jacobson play another game like yesterday, he was absolutely out of his mind in terms of effort and strong rebounding. Our team desperately needs that guy, and has needed it all season long.
