Has anyone else in the area noticed housing prices going through the roof recently? Houses that I was looking at in Apache Junction two months ago that were in the 225-240k range are now 265-270k. Things in the San Tan Valley that were 215-220 are now 250+. None of the other cities in the region are like that. Everybody here is blaming Californian's. I'm thinking of heading down to Tucson.

It is Californians. They’re selling their homes in California to escape taxes, pollution, and traffic. Then coming over here and offering full ask plus 10%-20% on the homes for sale here.

I’m sorry but the majority of Tuscan is disgusting and the parts that aren’t gross, cost just as much as it does to live in the valley.

In Rhode Island everything is going over asking prices. My wife and I just lost on a house by asking 31k over asking and still lost (supposedly just barley lost). And this is already on top of an inflated asking price.

They included a keg with their offer?

Nationwide everything is going up.

A house down the street from me that was comparable value to mine just sold for 50k more than mine appraised for a year ago.

My work would occasionally take me to Phoenix. Loved that city. Sorry, that’s all I got.

Florida is insane. Condo I bought 10 years ago is double. And a lof it is the last 9 months. I keep hearing NY/NJ/CT/MA people escaping lockdown. That may or may not be a factor but they like to say that's the reason here.

Wave after wave of Boomers retiring. Those in colder climates are looking elsewhere either permanent or 2nd home. 20210302_202220.jpg

My girlfriend and I rented in a neighborhood last year where 3 bed 2 baths homes are now going for 500k-600k in north scottsdale/desert ridge area right now. Wild stuff.

Apparently there is a massive shortage of homes in Maricopa County. My foreman lives in a shack by South Mountain and he said it appraised for 230k. I'm still hoping I can get something in A.J. or San Tan Valley for around 250k in the next few months. I wish Maricopa or Casa Grande were a little closer. I usually work in the East Valley so ideally I'd like to stay on that side of the city.

Had an agent tell me there are around 5000 homes for sale in the greater Phoenix area. Seems like a lot. Until he said in 2008 there were over 250,000.

Do you live in greater Providence?

And considering the amount of modular homes and 55+ communities in the area that number is lower if you are younger and looking for a house.

People are leaving Northern states partly because of tax rates. We are leaving MN to FL way sooner than expected because of taxes, we can both work from home. What we save in taxes will more than pay (mortgage, prop taxes, etc.) for our new home in FL it's a no brainer. But yes FL is going nuts right now. Two of our friends are house shopping in Phoenix this week, same reason.... tax rates. F Minnesota.

The entire state could be considered the Providence area. But we’re looking in Barrington, Warren, Bristol, Tiverton, Portsmouth, and Middletown. Of course, the last two would be very tough for our budget.

Currently live in Newport.
