I do it all of the time. You hit a certain age and you don't GAF.
See if Fred was only a former coach, I could see Myron’s point. He is a former player whose number is retired, is/was a fan favorite, native son of Ames, with significant NBA experience and ties. You don’t shun alumni like that from your program.
That’s why I don’t wear pants. One less thing to worry about mixing up.

He didn't leave to coach a college team. That would be a different situation to some/me.
Metcalf is kind of weird, also.
I think he just doesn't get it from the perspective of Coach Prohm. I think he views Fred as a threat to him and his job. Coach Prohm is just an incredibly secure and genuine guy, and I think he knows that his job here is as safe as can be in that profession.
I don't know him that well, but he does seem to be very complimentary to Iowa State most of the time.
Myron has had favorable ISU coverage, but you can tell he’s viewing this from a “Fred” fan standpoint stemming from their Minneapolis connection, not as an Iowa State fan. To Myron Iowa State is simply a part of Fred. Prohm knows it’s actually that Fred is a part of Iowa State.
His ex analogy is amiss imo. It would be more odd if an ex was in town and you didn’t want him stopping by. And it’s more like an older brother that used to have your bedroom that left for college. Prohm’s relationship with the program is healthy. This isn’t Jerry Springer, it’s a successful program supported by many and controlled by one, Prohm.

It floors me how so many people act like crazy jilted lovers any time Fred's name is brought up. Grow up.
Coach Hoiberg will once again be inside the friendly confines of Hilton Coliseum on Tuesday, as fan of course. This will be his first time back since going to coach the bulls. Maybe he’ll come down and draw up out of bounds plays during timeouts
The vast majority of our team won't know who he is.
Medcalf comes off as very uninformed about some of the things Prohm has done over the last few years like the reunions etc.
And from what I've seen Fred's not exactly the ol' ball coach who seeks the attention and expects a red carpet. Actually I think part of him leaving was the inability to be in public without the attention.

Would've loved some highlights of Fred's time as a player in Hilton but yeah that made me wish I were A) good at basketball and B) capable of feeling safe moving laterally without straining something so I could go out and shoot baskets via the tweet's inspiration.
He does. But his view point is understandable. Again, it is to prohms great credit that the guy he replaced (that many feel could do no wrong) is welcomed so warmly by prohm. Of course the fans love it.

Fred really needs to be put in the athletic department for fundraising efforts. Not a single man or women can say no to Fred Hoiberg!
