Wherever I go, there I am.
I apologize for the nudity.

There you are getting naked again... didn't that little prosecution slow you down?

I've undergone surgery on both hands, and I feel so much better now. I wish I had done it a few years earlier.

As for the timing, I had the first surgery in early December and the second one in March of the following year for insurance purposes. I was informed that the issues might return, but 10 years later, everything is still good.

I was wondering if you need it in both do you do it separately or together. How long was recovery like? My left is super bad.

Still haven't found work and wondering if needing it in both I could qualify for temp disability?

I know they numb the arm for the surgery because act of being conscious while my wrist is cut open freaks the crap out of me.

Some construction guy stopped at the job site today wondering about who we were and if we did jobs in the area, but he had us confused with someone else. He talked with my foreman a while and said he was looking for employees. Said that he doesn't allow swearing on his job site. Well that's why he has no employees. Or of all the trades, the only people that swear more than framers are concrete guys.

Yeah, awake for the procedure but certainly cant feel anything. They will mobilize your arm good, monitor you, and cover the area. I wanted to watch and they let me watch the second one, not the first hand. It was interesting. They go through your palm.

I wouldn't recommend doing both hands at once. Honestly, I was surprised that it was even an option. Since I’m left-handed, my left hand was the worst, and I had that one done first. In hindsight, I wish I had done my right hand first instead.

During the first two days, my hand was swollen and hurt quite a bit, and I couldn’t use or move it. Once the swelling started going down, the pain intensified, and it took a few more days before I started to feel better. In a couple of weeks, I was mobile enough to start using it a little. Thankfully, the timing worked out perfectly because I was already starting to use it when they scheduled my physical therapy. Obviously, they want you exercising, AFAP. Make sure to do the exercises at home that they show you. I didn’t follow the instructions carefully because I had an emergency project on the farm as a water line burst due to the cold, and the cattle needed water. That set me back, and I was just driving and helping the contractor as much as I could with one hand. Just swinging my arm around, not using the hand, made it hurt. By mid-February, I was back to normal in time for the surgery on my second hand.

When I went to my consultation with the surgeon, they told me they recommended two weeks of FMLA, but I don’t have a traditional job, so I couldn’t take FMLA leave, so I did what I could with it.

I don't know about disability, but it's certainly worth checking out. I will double down that the only regret is I didn't do it sooner.

I have no interest in watching. How long is the surgery?

I have no interest in watching. How long is the surgery?

They were surprised that I wanted to watch and said they needed to verify it first. When I checked in for the first surgery, they told me I couldn’t watch that one, but they would monitor my vital signs to determine if I could watch the second surgery if I went through with it. Having helped with livestock birthing and butchering, this kind of stuff doesn’t bother me.

I went to ORA Orthopedics in Bettendorf, Iowa. The procedure took about an hour. I recommend wearing sweatpants that are easy to take off and on. I remember a few things from the first surgery. The room was cold, there was loud Christmas music playing, the surgeon, and three fantastic nurses. One of the nurses stayed by my side and continually asked if I was okay. The surgeon spoke to me during the procedure and even sang a little. He was from Sweden and had a strong accent; the only downside was that he went to Iowa. LOL.

During the second surgery, I was focused on watching. They had a sheet ready to cover my arm if needed.

As for why I wished I had done my right hand first, it would have allowed me to use my dominant left hand while healing, which would have made things a lot easier dealing with the first healing process and knowing what to expect for the second healing process. In fact, during the feedback questionnaire after the surgeries, my only negative comment was that if both hands need to be done, there shouldn’t be an option to do them both at once. They should recommend doing the non-dominant hand first.

Based on all the graphics shared here today, I venture to say this RTT (if we're characterizing it as such) does not have a potassium deficiency.

Swearing and drinking kind of go hand in hand with construction crews. I worked a union job that had a keg in the super's trailer, and a liquor store on site. We got a 10% discount
