******* deer tore up my chicken wire fence again last night. Going out to repair and maybe cover with netting. Does not bode well for the summer and hostas and anything else green. Just WAY too many deer here.
Guessing they do not do urban deer hunting there?

I recommend either Lakeside or Sprecher breweries for tours etc. Lakeside especially is topnotch.

My suburb cannot because there is no public land in my neighborhood big enough to do it safely. Most of the deer come from Theo Wirth Park in Mpls and the park board isn't going to get into the controversy of culling the herd even though it's a problem for the ark to. They built new 8-foot high fences to protect their own wildflower sanctuary but the rest of us are screwed. Maybe I should buy an old beater pickup with a big roo-bar and drive around at night and run them over.

Other wildlife. The limping turkey in the local gaggle is getting more lame. Was on my ground level deck yesterday and she's essentially hopping on one leg and using wings to move. And she was alone. Guess she can't keep up with the flock now.

Not even going to try and explain how this ended up in my head. o_O

Down the way
Where the nights are gay
And the sun shines daily on the mountaintop
I took a trip on a sailing ship
And when I reached Jamaica I made a stop

But I'm sad to say I'm on my way
Won't be back for many a day
My heart is down
My head is turning around
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town

Who needs a reason?

Down at the market you can hear ladies cry out as on their heads they bear
Ackee, rice, salt fish are nice, and the rum is fine any time of year.
:D

A favorite from the 60s. I know Belafonte sang it first, but I loved the Brothers Four.

Next time she's there call the DNR. I had them rescue a injured hawk a few yrs back. Evidently it misjudged on a dive and injured a wing. Found it in the gravel pit. Took them about 5 hrs before they showed up but we found it in some brush and he caught it with a fish net. It went to Carroll for rehab.
