Did you check out the conservatory as well? Mrs. Velo and I will visit a few times each winter when the winter is getting to be too much. Gives us a taste of summer in the middle of the endless winter night.
Did not have that much time, didn’t even see the whole zoo but it will all be on our list again.

Not exactly sure.
Wonder how long it took the mailman to deliver a route with 2 days mail. Probably had to return to fill at least once. Although some of the monday mass mailings didn’t make it so maybe those are today.

Neighbor told us that they found out there were several invitees to her daughters wedding a couple weeks ago that never got their invite. Postal service in NC Iowa is awful.

We have a pretty good independent carrier on our rural route. Friendly, has dog treats for people's pups, actually comes all the way to our (slightly) sloping gravel lane to deliver to us & Judy on slick winter days. If we have any mildly negative observation, it's that our mail will be sometime between 7.00a and 7.00p. We never know when it will get here as she changes up her route pretty frequently to accommodate for packages in her jeep.

Her substitutes are an entirely different story.

Spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Verizon yesterday. I think I have drain bamage from the repeated hitting my head on my desk. I haven't been able to log into my account on my computer, but no problem on the app on my phone. I have to send a copy of my bill every month for expenses.

During a chat with a gal, she unregistered my phone, and then nothing. I finally got a hold of a live person and I don't know how many times I repeated the same thing to him about what came up at Sign In. It never once asked anything about my account. He finally got my app to work again after he reregistered my phone, but had to wait for a tech. Finally after waiting for an eternity, the tech was dumbfounded to on why I couldn't access my account. After going through a half dozen or so scenarios. He goes switch from Google Chrome to Explorer. Finally success!! What is weird is that I have been using Chrome and have not had a problem before until now. Something changed.

Chrome on my phone, Firefox on my desktop. It seems like most of the time when one of them updates, some login or account goes blammy. It's more frequent with the Chrome than the Firefox. I'm seriously considering downloading Firefox to my phone, but I'm lazy...

Dad got out of hospital Saturday around noon but has a heart test Friday.

Woke this morning to get news from Mom that my aunt who lives near San Diego passed away last night.

Her and my uncle thankfully had made 2 trips to Iowa in the last year so I had gotten some in person visit time.

She had a pretty bad stroke 6 years ago but had recovered remarkably well.

May her memory be a blessing...grieve well.

We're trying to figure out what's up with our mail delivery or person. For the past week or so, delivery doesn't happen until mid to late afternoon. Always before, it was morning and usually between 9-10. New person or substitute or someone doing two routes and has to go back and load up between them. Or maybe work hours don't start until noon now.

My neighbor had me put his trash cans out on the curb so that they could be cleaned. Retired neighbor across the street was trying to be nice and moved them to behind the house before they got cleaned, ooops.

I believe we're getting the DSM metro rain from this morning now here in the Chicago burbs.

DOT is doing a fair amount of traffic studies around the CR metro with those pneumatic tubes across the road. Wouldn't mind if it results in a higher traffic level rating for a road right by us so they would put in a flashing cross walk. Would feel better about letting the kids cross there with that.

Go around the block a couple hundred extra times each day to jack up the count...

...and pull a trailer.
