Lew has been having increased post-stroke memory issues now. I had written up a list of things that he takes when we go somewhere that I posted on the door to the garage. We called it his mantra.

Now he has his eight things he needs to remember: wallet, keys, phone, hat, yes even SHOES...he drove halfway to Ames a while back before he realized he was still wearing his house slippers.

He has developed a new pattern of counting to eight, pointing to the pockets and body parts where the items belong. He slaps all four pockets, points to his head twice and then to his feet. He finishes with waving his hand (indicating his omnipresent Pepsi). We've started ending his count with "Heyyyyyy, Macarena".

Sometimes you just have to laugh at your new normal.
I do the pocket pat also billfold, key, phone, checkbook if going to a auction. :)

Slippers he would be just fine at Walmart:)

Bar crawl, party tent, a couple of parades, haunted tours. The highway slowdown through the town is known as the redneck bottleneck.
Don't forget the pumpkin roundabout!!!

Bunch of weddings this year. Either full formal or flip flop level. No In between.
Yeah we have a friend getting married up here in the Twin Cities (likely flip flops and Hawai'ian shirts). So we will have a bunch of friends staying at our house for the weekend. Not sure where we are going to put them all, but we'll make it work...

Third granddaughter is getting married in Dover 3 days after we get back. We aren't even going home - just catching a flight straight out. Here's the kicker. Small wedding - siblings, parents, grandparents. No aunts & uncles, no cousins. Dress code is formal. No pants, no black, and no patterns. Showed her two options I could wear; one was too casual, one was too dark. "Grandma, can't you just wear a summer dress that's a warm one color, maybe straps over your shoulders?"
"Mac, have you SEEN me? They don't make dresses like that for short fat women!!".

I'm not really sure what I'm going to wear, but I DO know that it's going to be stupid hot wherever we're going to be. :(
