I left the metro twice this weekend! Drove "all the way" to Hastings twice to chase some owl photo ops. LOL. Man, I just don't go anywhere anymore. It's why my 10 year car only has 42K miles on it (not even driven to church on Sunday either).
Hastings? That's farther than I drove this weekend.

Son blew a tire on Memorial Day around 7 pm around Princeton, IL on his way home to Ames. He and his buddy couldn't get the tire off to put the doughnut on. Damn aluminum wheels. Even told him to put the lugs on loose and drive ahead to get it to come loose. Didn't work. 1.5 hours after getting someone to come help them, they got started off. Well they drove 50 mph to get home and pulled in around 2 am. Spares are only suppose to last 50 or so miles but around 250 miles it held up! Nothing worse than having car issues along the Interstate.

So the bartender that people think I'm after, which I'm not, have never asked out, or expressed any kind of interest like that to her, is all of a sudden asking me for things.

All we've done is text, just as friends, but it is almost daily. She just seemed like she needed someone to talk to. I'm a caring person, and was single at the time, so I didn't mind talking with her and maybe being slightly flirtatious. But like I said, I never even expressed any kind of interest in getting together outside the bar.

But now she texted me at 2am Saturday morning wanting me to come over. Wanted me to bring her a coffee this morning. I'm like no, I'm sleeping and I'm busy today. She has other friends that can do that stuff. I don't think this is a coincidence since I'm seeing someone now and I know she saw us together Friday night.

Another bartender there warned me that she likes to take advantage of men who think she's attractive. I refused to believe it, but now I see it.

Maybe I met this lady I'm seeing at exactly the right time.

Not being interested for some reason can get 'em super interested.

Maybe she also loves the drama of stirring the pot. Some people are like that.

I found out some stuff last night. Apparently she's had a boyfriend this entire time. Never said a word so I had no idea. Would've never texted back and forth like we did if I knew that.

Also, the set up lady at the bar from a while ago told me that I should've called her when the old lady was harassing me about her granddaughter. She said she hates that woman and would've come down and raised hell and told her off.

There's a lot of those folks on the interwebs...

I've decided about 90% of the internet is for pot stirring and then it's like cat/dog/outdoor videos.

In my own non-internet world I remember amongst our group of friends 10-15 years ago one person would pretty obviously pour it on and do things like sitting on fiance's/boyfriends' laps, etc. in front of their girlfriend, just to see if they could get something going.

It was an addiction to dysfunction that largely kept me away from that person.

On daughter's trip to Yellowstone last week they had a flat on one of the two cars they took. Of the 5 guys and 2 girls on the trip daughter was the only one who really knew how to change a tire so she took charge of the situation and changed the tire herself. I guess forcing her to watch me change a tire on her car and then making her repeat the process herself before I would let her get her license paid off.

All hail Randy and his night to never forget. He probably took a two day nap after that one.

Sounds like the recent family meet-up went well. Unless your short sentences are supposed to have a hidden message.
It did. I matter-of-facted the sentence simply because it was all that really needed to be stated. We are very happy.

They've been on a trip to a few mountain area national parks. They've been recording a video log of their trip. In Glacier, her boyfriend set up the camera when they were by a lake. This is where/when he wanted to ask her. He had to wait a significant amount of time because my daughter wouldn't stop talking about chipmunks and squirrels.
