So after the hype and pestering from my wife to watch this hot new show, I tried to watch "Glee". I could not. I know there is no accounting for taste but who watches this stuff? If I could have reached her throat through the TV, I may have killed the tall older blond woman who used to play Jake's psychologist on two and a half men.

My fiance LOVES that show. Although, its kind of nice because she goes to the bedroom to watch it while the dog and I get to watch sports on the big screen..... in peace.

I am not really sure of the hype either. It is kind of like every other drama, except they cover songs. I get it, they have really good singers, and the writing is decent, but I don't get much past that.

I occasionally watch this with my wife and it is usually good for a laugh or two. But last night's show just "jumped the shark" a little too much for me: The girls playing football; the team playing two people short (four of them being girls) and being down only 17-0 at half. The team dressing up and performing a halftime show? I can suspend SOME disbelief, but not THAT much. Oh yeah, and the opposing team hiking a shotgun snap over the QB's head when all they had to do was kneel down. Come on, man.

i occassionally watch with the mrs.......there are a couple pieces of eye candy to watch on the show, they sing a lot better than the black eyed peas! The story line is pretty corny, but it reminds me of saved by the bell when i was growing up but with a message of being nice to the gays.

That is by far the worst show in the history of television, and I am including the remake of V.

I actually really enjoy this show. Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester kills me, as it seems like she ad-libs a good portion of her dialogue - similar to characters she portrays in Christopher Guest movies. The writing is pretty sharp, albeit preachy at times, but I think it is a fresh and a somewhat realistic take of the high school "caste system."

My personal Axis of Evil:
1) The Hawks
2) The Taliban
3) Glee
4) People who hate Bruce Springsteen (also known as "Terrorists")
5) The Huskers

That's how ******* awful Glee is.

Pretty much the same boat. My girlfriend thinks it's incredible. I think it's a mishmash of ridiculous PC bull ****, Teen Mom, and people spontaneously breaking into song. Glee is evil.

I like the show. Makes me laugh.

I am aware of it's shortcomings (really preachy, fake performances, football subplot for people who know absolutely nothing about football, some just dumb plotlines) but I love a few characters. Sue/Will back and forth is hilarious to me. Puck's character is probably my favorite "high school bad boy" ever.

Now I didn't see last night's episode yet, but it sounds like one of the really bad ones. Unfortunate, but not surprising.

Jane Lynch is as good as it gets. Terrific comedic actress. I've been a fan for years. I watch Glee occasionally and probably wouldn't watch it at all if not for the Sue Sylvester character. When Glee runs its course, and it's pretty close already, they should spin off a show for the Sue character.

It's not my cup of tea, but I can see why people like it, and by people I mean women.

Also watched it for the 1st time last night and was amazed at how bad it was. They only have 11 people out for football and somehow made it to state? A football coach teaming with the glee club teacher? It was all around turrible.

This kind of crap happens when you have people who know absolutely nothing about sports involved in creating a TV show. Football? 11 people play at once? So there must just be 11 on the team then, right?

Then when a few guys quit the coach posts a signup and is amazed none of the 30 people who were cut in the fall signed up to play. Hmmm, let's see. We've got 41 guys out for football. I'll just keep 11.

I get that that's not what the show's about but come on, if you want to have any credibility with an audience at all, at least ask someone, how hard is that?

Jane Lynch is very good. Unfortunately she left a much better show, Party Down, to take the role in Glee. I'm sure Fox pays a lot more than Starz so can't blame her too much.

Part Down was funny -- Glee is just plain stupid and the role she played on two and a half men was brilliant!!!

My girlfriend watches it and its way preferable to most of the other shows out there that are really popular with women (probably because it is an actual show, with actually pretty good writing and acting rather than a reality show). Not my type of show normally, but its fairly funny, that tall blond chick that was in Best of Show and Forty Year Old Virgin is hilarious.
