So why is he listed on the new roster that just came out?
Perhaps that's a roster as of a certain date or something and they'll update as we get further into camp.

Agree, if it's even close start Kohl, if you are going to recruit these high level guys we need to play them.if were looking long term- start kohl this year and let him build experience.
if were destined for 3-9 or 4-8 this year- why not?
Campbell isn't going to tip his cap either way. Probably mostly because of the legal ramifications. So why is he listed on the new roster that just came out?
Bouman was South Dakota's best QB last year and will likely start this season. Why do you have an issue with someone going elsewhere for more playing time? The odds of a kid like Bouman getting to the NFL are probably much higher at a school where he can start and dominate than they are at a school where he might not ever take a snap. It would be cool if Tristan Michaud was his best WR this year.I don't like when ANY QB transfers out. It signals to me that they are sour about not getting to play and would rather take a me first approach and try to start over somewhere else than stick it out and wait for an opportunity. Take time to develop inside the program YOU CHOSE out of high school. Didn't like the Aidan Bouman transfer either, guarantee had he been patient he would be the unanimous starter right now with Dekkers likely out. But he put me before we and wanted to find greener grass in his mind.
Because Bouman would be OUR starting QB right now had he been patient. Would have just delayed seeing the field by a year.Bouman was South Dakota's best QB last year and will likely start this season. He didn't know that. Gotta get yours when you can.Because Bouman would be OUR starting QB right now had he been patient. Would have just delayed seeing the field by a year.

There was also a different OC at the time.We don't know what those QBs are told and what their experience is vs. what they envisioned when being recruited.
If it's not a good fit for them, then they should go.
Whom we have heard was not well liked by the players. There was also a different OC at the time.
What are we all assuming with Dekkers? Did I miss something?
People keep hinting that he did something worse than gamble, but no one will just say what it is. What is it? Even the gambling thing is just speculation, technically.Based on what i heard he did, if its true and it leaks out... i don't see how anyone would stick around.
The JUCO QB is a clear indication the staff doesn’t think Kohl will be ready to play this fall too. He’s been on campus since January, the staff recruited the JUCO after spring ball. People need to pump the brakes on J.J. Kohl.Rocco had glowing 7 on 7 reports prior to arriving as well. Seems odd most want to anoint JJ the future.
Disagree. There's a lot of scuttle that coaches (including NS) think Kohl is ahead of schedule. The JUCO QB is a clear indication the staff doesn’t think Kohl will be ready to play this fall too. I agree with the bolded. But whatever happened to trusting the process and being a good teammate? It is just the reality of the me-first, must have it now, self-serving attitude of todays youth I suppose. Unless Dekkers was just head and shoulders better than Bouman which I find hard to believe, I don't know why you wouldn't just bide your time and see how it goes for a year. If Dekkers took the job and ran with it, that's fine. THEN transfer and still have, what, 3 years of eligibility to play somewhere? There were a lot of outcomes Bouman could have wound up being QB1 here. Injuries and suspensions are hard to predict and bank on, yes, but Dekkers struggled at times last year. It might have been nice to have another warm body in the room to possibly spell him or replace him, or at the very least put pressure on him in practice. We don't know what those QBs are told and what their experience is vs. what they envisioned when being recruited.

I think there has been an assumption made around here that Brock may not miss the full season, maybe even only 4 games. That would be great if that ends up happening. In addition to the QB situation, our RBs are a big question mark if we don't have Jirehl Brock. Eli Sanders hasn't really shown much of anything besides some mop-up time against Iowa. Norton has a long injury history which makes me question if we can rely on him (injured a lot in HS, last season and again this spring). Hopefully the transfer from Stanford can be somewhat reliable.
