If she fears him, I doubt she would be so blatant.

However- after spending a month alone with him, she definitely could have been having multiple private conversations with folks back home looking for a way out. Unfortunately for her, I’d bet he would have forcefully uncovered those conversations and lost his ****. Raiding a woman’s text messages is a good way to get your eyes clawed out…
Bump. If you haven’t watched the Netflix special yet- spoiler alert: Gabby reached out to her ex boyfriend in the days and hours leading up to her murder. I think it’s safe to assume Brian found out about this and went off the deep end.

I thought after her last (real) text message. Their last conversation was probably like this.

Nichole asked if they were breaking up, to which Gabby replied, "No I just said I could make more money as a solo female van lifer. I’m driving to a campsite now."

Gabby: "Hey, we are now 2000 miles away home in the middle of BFE and think we should probably take a break, or broke up. And BTW, remember when I was working the Taco Bell to have fun while you were trying to figure out/working/remodeling the dream van and road trip? Well now I think I should be the only one to owneby the van so now I can make a new vblog that people will love a young blonde single girl and I'll be rich!

Brian: *chokes out Gabby*

end.

I thought the Netflix documentary would be more, well, interesting? I don't follow up news stories like this one that the media made it into a big big story. I thought this was about a van life blogger who is very famous with millions of subscribers. They looked so the perfect life, etc, etc, but he had a dark side. Well, I guess I was thinking they were more YouTube stars but they only had 1 video and only 500 views before the murder or the media started follow the case.

So it's really about a young blond girl, that's basically it. It's very sad, and wish she could notice the signals that she was in a bad situation.

I thought it was like Kate and Nick from YouTube, 4.11 Million Subscribers. That'd be a big, at least bigger story were has a follow and tons of video of their channel. It's a story that is sad, but their are thousands of these every year the same.

Behind you
Did anything happen to his parents? Weren't they complicit in trying to hide him and hide what he did?

Is this Netflix doc rather new? I remember the 20/20 and dateline pieces were solid. Tough part was when cops were called on them that was her chance to get separation from this guy.

Yes; it just dropped on Monday. There was new previously unseen footage and revelations like the ex boyfriend and the letter from Brian's mom.

They also discuss how this is another case of "missing white girl syndrome," but the story is unique because of how much was documented thanks to Gabby's vlog. The friends and family want to push her story to raise awareness and prevent further tragedies.

It was her chance, but the sad thing is she went straight back to him like we see far too often. The doc said they met up that night that they were separated, even though the cops said to not have any contact until the next day.
