Rank your top five recurring threads on Cyclone Fanatic (other than staff-generated). What are your favorite/most-frequent landing spots?

List can involve (1) recurring themes done seasonally or throughout the year, often posted by the same person/group of people; (2) most common topics of interest; (3) ongoing threads (such as the “Random Thoughts” series).

I’ll have to think a while on this one, then I’ll post my list.

Go!

My 5:
1. Friday OT
2. *** Official Game Day Thread ***
3. Bracketology/Projection Sunday (seasonal)
4. Pop music-related, in various forms
5. Uniform-design threads (willing to fuel cyrocksmypants’ continued bemusement!)

I assume I omitted a few recurring features that didn't immediately coming to mind … my list also suffers from a little recency bias.

Runner-up candidate that (apparently) is obsolete: Hit Tapes

Generally speaking, I like polls, too.

1. Official gameday threads
2. Fire all the coaches threads
3. Random Thoughts
4. Realignment threads (do you really think we care about your original idea to take the old Big 8, add three teams from the Big Sky conference, three more from the frigid CFL, and call it the Ice Sk8?)
5. Uniform threads (similar thoughts that others have expressed already)

Honorable Mention: "But Hillary" threads (in the Cave)

1. Pretty much any thread by @cyclones500 - they're going to be thoughtful and well-developed.
2. @GTO's polls - they are always hilarious and random
3. Political threads about social topics where you get to just rail on people who are uniformed/crazy/various
4. Music threads
5. I like the OT threads where people give me ideas, because they're fun and provide different perspectives on people.

I love sports threads for reading, but a long time ago I learned that female opinions are not super respected by some, so I rarely comment anymore.

1. Random Thoughts threads
2. Random off topic threads like GTO's mention of creepy threads or weird things people bring up. Comments are all just people making jokes
3. Political threads that bring out the sass
4. Normal off topic threads like financial, vacation-themed, Friday OT threads

No particular order:

***Official Gameday Threads*** until the game starts, and then again after it ends (if we won). Meltdowns make me crazy

Friday fives like this one

Friday OT threads:
*music/film/tv oriented because there are a bazillion groups/shows/movies that I have never seen or heard of
*travel - it's fun comparing notes and sharing places with other people
*have you ever/did you ever - always good for a laugh

GTO's post game polls - he has a real talent for making them entertaining

Random Thoughts threads: just because

Roll call threads

Heard in the stands (comic gold!)

Cave threads about social issues - although I have finally learned that it's better for my blood pressure if I ignore the obvious trolls and excessively long-winded :)

Sport threads (mostly FB & MBB), but I don't comment much (same reason as Angie)

And yes - that's more than five. Deal with it.

Anything GIF is comical and usually results in me laughing out loud. Possibly the best thread I have ever witnessed on this site was the Football Season Recap GIF from 2 years ago. My abs still ache from laughing so hard in that one.

**** 'em. Say it anyway. There's no way your opinions are worse than clonedudes.
I kept a gender neutral identity on previous message boards - it's refreshing to be myself here. As for the reaction to female comments - honestly, I just don't live & breathe sports (and recruiting, and fantasy, and uniforms) the way some of the guys on here do, so I choose not to fight that battle (don't try me in the cave, though!). I'll read those threads, but I don't have much to add to them. I suspect Angie may be somewhat like that as well. :)
