I do not read the mega thread Bubu anymore. Do you think he could get in the rotation?
I think he will after the OSU game. You don't throw him in in the middle of a stretch against 8 ranked teams.
Bubu can become our fouling machine when we need it.

If there were any lingering questions regarding Bubu's good standing, they were answered by yesterday's ruling by the Iowa Supreme court as reported by the DMR.

This ruling allows Bubu to re-take "privileged" place on the Iowa State Men's basketball team. I am hopeful that the crowd will warmly receive Bubu if he does get minutes. I also hope the higher ups can put aside their "disappointment", and instead take responsibility for having made a mountain of this mole hill.

It is time for forgiveness, acceptance, and healing. If the Heisman Trophy winner can be forgiven, then why not a humble walk-on bench player from the humblest of major colleges?

I hope Percy sticks around ISU for his senior year and gets his degree. When you have 13 scholarship players only 8-9 max are needed in conference play IMO it is one thing to have an honest discussion with a kid when thwy are freshman, but once they play on the team a couple years, I feel they are Cyclones for life even if they don't get PT. If these guys are truely student athletes like the NCAA claims then graduating kids from school is more important than Pey.
Truth is, it's tough to see how Percy sees the floor next year with Nader and McKay if he can't do it this year.

Fred has set up a genius system if you ask me. He understands that the college BB game as a whole has ineffective Big man/inside game play. Most teams like Iowa are gonna march out a Woody/Gabe at the C position, and a Basabe at the PF spot. Now we all know I'm a Hok fan, but those guys aren't going to strike fear in the hearts of other teams. They are effective, but not great players. Fred sees that as a spot he can take advantage of on the offensive end, and not really get hurt by them on the defensive side of the coin. Advantage Fred here, as he spreads the court.

The problem he is going to have is with the Kansas' of the world who do have GREAT inside play. In the end though, you face them guys twice, and maybe see one other dominate inside team all year. Fred is playing the percentages, and just has to try to deal with the statistical outliers a few times a year (teams with great inside play). The only other problem is occasionally Fred's system is going to allow a Spangler to play like an Embid. Once again this isn't going to happen often, just deal with it when it occurs.

Good post. I agree if we can get an embid great otherwise you are right way more efficient to go without the Big.

So Embiid left Georges who had 24 points to block shots but he would have stayed on Percy Gibson because he's two inches taller?
may only be 2 inches taller but with arm length hes a lot bigger while shooting the ball then niang. most of niang's points came while embiid was on the bench. and barely challenged on the defensive end. put him in with niang I don't know but could have tried something.
