I had heard Marcus Fizer almost quit when Larry E became coach due to the stepped up conditioning program. The story I heard was he walked up to Eustachy and informed him that he did not come to ISU on a track scholarship. Glad he stuck around. Remember - "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."
I think this was actually Tinsley not Fizer. I heard Fizer was on board with the conditioning from Day 1 after playing with several top players at summer camps. He new he needed to get faster and have more endurance especially with the short bench they had.
Tinsley came straight from the street ball circuit and hadn't really done much conditioning before and had a very rude awakening.
