A nice 16 oz or bigger T-Bone Steak. Cooked over a low flame with Chicago marinade over top. Cooked to medium rare to medium. With cheesy potatoes cooked in foil next to it with garlic and Lawry's salt and a little butter. Also, some country style Busch's baked beans.

Ohh and a good six pack of beer while sitting on the deck during a nice summer night after a long bike ride.

Can't beat that...

I miss summer too much! Its not even February...this post and the Cubs thread earlier are giving me a major case of cabin fever!

Mine is probably sausage pizza from anywhere. Or, a pita, gyro, or superdog on welch after the bars...

I'm not big into steak ... I'd rather have a $5 burger than a $30 steak any day of the week.

Friends tell me it's because I like my meat "dead" (medium well or well) ... I can't bring myself to eat the "still kicking" version.

A good steak shouldn't cost you $30. Especially not in Iowa. You can buy one and cook it to perfection yourself for much less. The other great option is to find a small town restaurant/bar. I had one of the best 18 oz. ribeye's in my life over winter break at a small town bar down where I live. The dinner was only like $16 (granted, it was a special, but still). :notworthy:

Scallops from Ohana with their 'special sauce'

Peanut Butter cheesecake...

This is how sad I am ... I was at Iowa Beef and Steak house in Des Moines years back. I looked at my bill (something like $30) looked longingly at the McDonalds billboard across the street advertizing some 99c special and thought "damn, I could buy 30 of those things and enjoy it sooo much more" It's pathetic, I'm the anti-cultured pallete.

I'm the same way, but I used to eat huge amounts of food all the time and it was more of a quantity over quality thing. I'm a pretty skinny guy and when I go to McD's I get 4 double cheese and 2 apple pies, or maybe just 5 DC.

On the first week of my new job my new co-workers and I went out to Spaghetti works, and I polished off my dinner and like 5 other people's. Dang that was a good day. There is still one dude that calls me Hoover as well.

Hy-Vee Chinese. Keep in mind that I only just graduated college and that is a staple of the college diet.

Prime rib with horseradish takes the cake.
Huge fan of the armadillo eggs, get them every time I go to Billy's.
There's also a place in the Black Hills that I've been to a couple times that only serves filet mignon with a baked potato and wedge of lettuce. Good stuff.
