Passing students from front row to back in The Clyde. Now that was some serious action by the time one hit top row.
One thing that always chapped me during the swirly bird era was the use of the fully texted up logo versions in the score line or ranking graphics on TV. Too much going on in a postage-stamp sized space. You couldn't tell it was a cardinal. You couldn't tell it was a tornado. You couldn't read "Iowa State Cyclones." And why would anyone use one of those versions when it always accompanied the team name anyway?
How we didn't end up with a tornado wrapped around a block "I" for a logo I'll never know.
That looks so good but the problem is if you turn it upside down what does it look like?The blender bird isn't a bad concept but if it were used again, needs a less cartoony look.
I forget the history of why this won't work logistically but it's the best imo for a helmet decal.

Block I-State isn't sexy, but it's effective in its simplicity. I vote to keep it as our primary logo for the sake of consistency. Now if only we could get rid of the damned beveling:

We should have a throwback theme for every homecoming. Jack Trice, Dirty 30, Earle Bruce, Troy Davis, Insight Bowl, etc.
If you need the script update it to the new font and tweak the design a little bit to make it more sleek. Just make the blue black.
I'm apparently in the minority. I like pretty much all of our logos. I'm also fine with not being super consistent with them.

Letterman I with cursive arched Cyclones is pretty sharp.
The Cynado logo was during the period when I was a student at ISU (98-02) and at the time I thought it was fine. But now I am fine with the I-State logo as our primary then maybe we bring back the Cynado as a retro throwback once in awhile. We had some awful looking jerseys in football and basketball during that logo period IMO.

I'm not a design guy, but conceptually, I think we should lean into the "cyclone" theme. More sirens. And not just the weak cranky thing at basketball games. They need to crank that up to 11. And get a hologram of a cyclone to float around Jack Trice Stadium and Hilton Coliseum. Come up with a cyclone hand signal.
Like I said, I don't know what the actual things should be. I just want us to lean into our unique and special cyclone identity.
