Also Pancheros is the worst burrito joint in the land. Mainly because I'm bitter about the "real" Ames Pancheros closing (tear)
I personally love B-Bops and think that it's much better than In and Out, but I would love to see Ames get a Tasty Tacos!
There's one in Marshalltown and Cedar Rapids, and yes - they're still very good.
On South Duff they still have that Mongolian Grill sign up after building the place....but I don't think it's coming here.
That's Big Steer. I've always heard they're good, but I've never been there. The swear in between Iowa and Beef was the "f" word, as in "Iowa f'ing Beef!" Placed for emphasis, lol.
If it's anything like the Country Buffet sign it'll be here sometime around never. I think that corner is where restaurant signs go to die.
I hate when people think Carls Jr and Hardees are the same. They are owned by the same company but Carls Jr is soooo much better. I go out of my way everytime I am in Cali or a western state to get a double western bacon cheese burger from Carls Jr. I won't step foot in a hardees.What a burgers are good, they are the standard barer for hamburgers here. Finding one is no problem. Carl jrs moved in here recently. Good burgers, but I could not put my finger on something about them. Then I realized.

I've only had a runza once and I did enjoy it. I can't get those here so it is a little more mysterious.
I think it depends on who makes your burrito. The hub went there at least once a week for a looong time, to where the guys behind the counter got to know him really well and would pile on everything when he ordered.

IDK, I just am always kinda pissed at them. They also charge the most for Guac and give you the least amount. One thing I do notice is that it seems like if you order for take out they give you less than if you eat in.
I think Nebraskans love of Runza is very similar to their love of the Huskers. At some point in their life they were told that they had to love it, or just decided they would because everyone else seemed to... even if the product sucks.
I totally agree with the B-Bops vs In n Out burger though. If I could get one or the other to come to Denver, it would be B-Bops... hands down.

I quit eating Hardees the day the joined forces with Carls Jr, it was like they combined the menus and took away what was right with Hardees(wasn't much). Of course I wasn't a big fan of CJ when I was living in CA either.
Hardee's is downright delicious, but I can't even drive by the place without my chest feeling tight and my arm tingling.
I should've remembered this one earlier, but my favorite burger joint in Birmingham was Milo's. Not sure what it was but their burgers had awesome seasoning and really good sauce. That's about the only thing I miss from that city!

Taco John's is the one fast food fix I can't get out here. I talked the drive-through lane attendant in to selling me a bag of their potatoe oles seasoning last time I was back in the midwest, putting it on tater tots is the closest I come to satisfying my craving.
