We finished 5th in Big 12 and got humiliated in round of 32 in NCAAs. We were not better when it counts.
We lost in the 2nd Round to a frontcourt that went 6’9” and 6’8”, with their 3rd big at 6’8” from UNC Greensboro. He averaged 4 points and 1.6 rebounds for Ole Miss

And yet, you’re worried about Mulder’s height?

I get you’re trolling, but you’re going to need to do a better job to continue

I'd say more like 10-12, he barely averaged 20mpg in the Horizon league.
He averaged more than Chatfield and Robert Jones at their previous stops

But my guess is we won’t need more than 10-12 minutes. We’ll have Jefferson, Pleta, and a transfer center that will take up minutes

Couldnt make a FREAKING SHOT in the Ole Miss game to save our lives to the point the announcers repeatedly said "Iowa State only getting so many offensive boards because they are missing so many shots." And here we are on the verge of signing two of the most efficient offensive players in the country and people complain because....why?

Not every transfer we sign needs to come in and score 10+ ppg. We need higly EFFICIENT role players next to Jefferson, Momcilovic, Lipsey, and hopefully Cluff.

With Jefferson, we don't need someone to create a ton of offense in the post next season. We need someone that will have a ton of energy, defend and rebound their butt off, and finish shots at the rim. This guy appears to be a perfect fit.
It would help if he could pull a defender out of the lane to give Jefferson some room to manipulate. Looks like he has no game outside of 10 feet. In any case, bring the effort, and let’s roll, Mulder!

Nah, I'd rather start out with negative comments about the guy that is choosing to come here, is excited to be back in his home state, was an efficient scorer, and hasn't done anything wrong yet.

TJ hasn't shown that he likes that type of a 5.
D. Jackson, Chatfield, Rob Jones, Ward, Osunniyi.

I'm sure TJ likes 5s that can shoot a high % from 3. Every team in the NBA likes them.
Because those types of players have better chances of going to the NBA, they command a higher cost to have on a college roster.
TJ has to moneyball it and find big men that do things that get us more quality possessions without having to pay them. Examples of this are getting more offensive rebounds than they allow, setting quality screens, and good ball-screen defense.

Would it be nice to have someone that could also shoot the three, block more shots, and rebound it at 11' and higher?
Yep, it sure would.
And it sounds like the landscape dictates that it would be several hundred thousand dollars nicer for that kind of player.

Agree

And that’s why it seemed likely we wouldn’t be able to afford to keep Jackson

You can get equal or better defense in the portal much cheaper than what it would cost to resign a a 6’11” 265 center that put up 8 and 5 in 20 minutes/gm in Big 12

So he was neither cheap defense nor stretching on offense. He’s the 90’s era big in which you dump the ball into on offense , which crowds things for Jefferson and our guards, but that also wants to stay in the paint on defense…

Not factoring in cost, both sides likely prefer to have him back. But not in this era

I am unsure if Mulder is a Big 12 calibur player.

Then again, his efficiency is off the charts so maybe there's something there I don't see.
