I'm sure TJ likes 5s that can shoot a high % from 3. Every team in the NBA likes them.
Because those types of players have better chances of going to the NBA, they command a higher cost to have on a college roster.
TJ has to moneyball it and find big men that do things that get us more quality possessions without having to pay them. Examples of this are getting more offensive rebounds than they allow, setting quality screens, and good ball-screen defense.
Would it be nice to have someone that could also shoot the three, block more shots, and rebound it at 11' and higher?
Yep, it sure would.
And it sounds like the landscape dictates that it would be several hundred thousand dollars nicer for that kind of player.
