I have not seen the press conferance but until Jamie get's our programs going in the right direction I am not telling him anything about how great he is. since he has come here we have done nothing but go down hill.
We have made some good improvements to facilities though. I will give him that. Unfortunetly I don't care how nice the place is if we are losing.

Watch or listen to the presser and you might change your mind slightly.

True but we've been watching the product on the field/court on the last few years, too. This thread is sorta funny just how gullible this fan base can be. Chizik sweet talked us and now JP is getting all these support emails when our athletics are at 20 year lows. I just find it interesting. To each their own. I'm not judging anyone for expressing support for JP. I think that's great but no way could I send him a support email at this point.

Nice job by Jamie at the presser. Anybody that has read my past posts knows I have not agreed with JP on some of his moves as I was upset about Morgan not getting a 4th year, and thought we should have stayed focused on Brian Kelly 2 years ago since Chiz had no head coaching experience. I did support removing DMac and think JP has done a good job of fundraising. I have never doubted JP's dedication to ISU, but in today's presser I heard a little humility along with his sincerity, and a real pride in ISU. I think he will learn from what has happened and after hearing this presser I am much more confident he will get this one right. After hearing him today I know JP is convinced as I am that we have a lot to offer at ISU and can get a good coaching staff that can win here...

Wish I could have seen the post. I think humility is what JP needed in order to fully get a handle on being the Iowa State AD. I've never been a fan of JP and his heavy-handed tactics. This experience should make him a better AD. I just hope it doesn't scare him into a "safe" choice. The fans, and the players, especially the players, need a coach that they can rally around. Hopefully someone out there will take the challenge to turn this program around.

The point is.... to support him and the school when they truly need it.....not just when the program turns around.

“We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.” – Ben Franklin. It is important that as a fan base we stick together and see JP through this. If our fan base becomes divided it is only going to lead to further problems down the road.

Tell him you support him and what he is doing at ISU. It sounds like he has had a rough week and needs our support. We need this guy for ISU. He gets a lot of negative emails why not send him postive ones.

did the day gene quit. pollard is still the man at isu.

I guess he was suppose to look into his crystal ball and see that Chizik was going to leave after 2 bad season. I just dont understand some people. Ken Miller said it best today, JP bleeds Cardnal and gold. He is a big of ISU fan as they come and he has only been here 3+ years.

Already did.

So did I - last night and he replied to me early this morning.

I've got a lot of respect for this guy and his family, so I wanted him to know that I was still behind him. You could tell how much the support he's received over the last few days has meant to him at the press conference today.

I think he's very motivated to make things right for the players and the fans.

I have been supporting him. We are doing a nose dive into the ground (last place) and you want me to keep saying "you are a good pilot, you are a good pilot..." I have no doubt J.P. has good intentions and wants the best for Iowa State. At some point, however, we have to do what Jamie does; evaluate the results and ask ourselves if expectations are being achieved.

Despite being unlucky with the Chizik hiring, Pollard has nearly doubled our athletic budget. Our volleyball team is better than its ever been. Our wrestling team is neck and neck with Iowa. Our women's basketball team has been a staple of consistency and looks to be improving. Our basketball team is yet to be determined as we must wait out a full 4-year McD recruiting cycle. We have plans to make our athletic facilities on par with other upper echelon Big 12 schools (excluding Texas, Oklahoma, A&M). The naysayers can't seem to look past their noses to see the positives that have come from Pollard. The situation is perfect for the right hire to come in and let the fan base explode.

To some, it seems, the most important characteristic an AD must have is a crystal ball and the ability to precisely predict the exact turn of events that will happen concerning anything in the athletic department two years down the road. An unreasonable expectation?

he's making real moves here.. the press conference didn't change the way I think of JP.. I haven't disagreed with many decisions he's made.. he's making things happen and he's ambitious.. we're lucky to have him.. I don't understand people thinking because the football team is bad now, JP is bad... hmm... I agreed with him as most did with the Chizik hire.. I don't see how you blame JP for the losses or for Chizik turning into a scumbag.. is he supposed to be making the blocks himself?? Thats for the minority though.. keep up the emails.

I wonder if after cooling off, JP will feel relief like I now do that Chizik showed his true colors now rather than later.. amazing what difference a few days makes.. I'm so glad Chizik is gone now. I hope JP is too
