I think he's a good player but what was going through his head when he got that defensive rebound when we were up 4? He held onto to the ball for like 5 seconds without even attempting to outlet the ball and then let's forte rip it out of his hands. Then to top it off he makes a boneheaded foul when forte has no chance of scoring over him. It changed momentum and pretty much lost us the game. He's one of my favorite Iowa state players but I hate him tonight

This is a bad thread, and you should feel bad.

It was a big play. I just don't understand why wouldn't he outlet it? He had guys open. It was one of the dumbest plays I've ever seen.

My guess is, even though he had guys open, there were two guys on him and he isn't exactly the most athletic guy.

Should he have called timeout? Yes.

Is that play the reason we lost this game? Or the refs calls? Or Hoibergs timeouts? Or Clyburn letting guys cut right to the hoop without challenging them? Or Okie State nailing that halfcourt buzzer beater?

I really don't think any single topic cost us the game.

I do, however, think we beat ourselves, and not the other way around.

The turnover was ridiculous. He should have gotten rid of the ball immediately, but the foul was bs. He didn't even touch Forte. Forte won an academy award for that flop and got rewarded for it.

Ya I realize there are other factors but that was the one time in the game where it finally felt like we were going to get the win and then ejim does the unthinkable.

Ya that's why I said it was a boneheaded foul. It looked clean but you can't bring your arm down like that. The ref will call it almost every time. If he would have just blocked it and not brought his arm down in frustration it wouldn't have been a foul. The foul following that was complete garbage when forte was on the ground and he landed in his legs.

There were many times in the game where it felt like we were going to get the win. We were up 9 twice. Blaming this game on one play by Ejim (the obvious foul notwithstanding) is ridiculous.

Being up nine doesn't mean anything when it's in the first half or like 15 min left lol do watch much basketball? A team getting up by 9 and losing isn't out of the ordinary. Basketball is a game of runs

Ejim has had a rough go of it the last few games. Don't think he has scored in double figures since the West Virginia or Texas game.

Do watch much basketball, indeed. Do watch much basketball? I understand that's not out of the ordinary. But to blame an entire game on a single play by one player, after a great rebound and a questionable non-call is ludicrous. He was trying to get rid of the ball, but was hacked by one of their posts, then turned straight into Forte, who stole it from him. My main point: Ejim is hardly the problem with our team right now, or even in this game.

What was going through your head when you started this thread? This is dumb.

You must be new. There was never a time where I felt like we were going to win that game.

True--but the way this team let a 9 point lead vanish in mid air was really tough to watch. As quickly as OSU got up and down, there was no reason to rush shots and/or take bad ones, and ISU did just that over and over again.

I'm not blaming Melvin for the play because in the heat of the battle anything can happen and usually does, Melvin should have just called TIME OUT when the pokes pressed him.
