My latest irrational fear is that at some point, maybe soon the cubs will shut Horton down for the year. What you think odds of that happening are?
Sounds like with the previous pitching infrastructure that would’ve been a thing but Zombro and Tread are against that sort of philosophy. Could be pitch count caps but my $$$ would be on we go with more of a 6 man rotation

If he’s around after the deadline, count me as very, very excited for bullpen Ben Brown.

Im not confident he will start another game this year unless it’s to rest others. Did a great job today and his stuff can be great, especially if we maximize it to 20 pitches instead of trying to broaden it out the length of a normal start

I love the idea of bullpen Ben Brown. Is it a sure thing for 2025? No. But he’s done it before and I’m confident he can do it again.

Send him to Iowa to get right and we’ll see ya in a couple weeks.

Series win. BIG one coming up next.
Just avoid being swept honestly and I'll take it. I like our chances to improve are team over deadline more so than Brewers and we have a 5 game set at Wrigley in mid August. Big win with Brown getting ball. He was great so he earned it.
