Attendance requirements downgrade the class from "Easy" to an annoyance.

Agreed. In these classes you know there was a point in time when no one would come to class so there had to be a decision. They could make the class worthwhile so students show up, or they could keep the class a waste of time but require attendance. Every class I took with required attendance was a waste of time.

My thought is if you want an easy A in a hard class, take the 8AM class that has pop quizzes/attendance points. Many people will miss the class, and you get easy points.

Comp Sci 103. Can you turn your computer on? Can you navigate the series of tubes that is the internet? Plus, the class is totally online (kind of funny considering that the first few weeks of the class focus on how to use an operating system and web browser). I didn't go to one of the four tests and still got an A.

I second this. CS103 has to be the easiest class on campus, plus it's 4 credits!

Yup, between that and the attendance it is way too much work...

Phhhtttt! it was too easy to rack up what was it 3 or 5 "events." Heck you didn't even have to go to stuff, if someone you knew went to a concert have them give you their stub, heck you can even go to things like battle of the bands, the M-Shop (I assume it is still open and have live performances still?) used to be able to go to peoples and they had what I thought was the easiest was just go to one of the 30 minute organ recital sessions they have once a week in the music hall where music students played that big organ in the lecture hall the class is in. Even things like your younger relative's band and choir concerts counted, just needed a program of some sort to turn in so technically you didn't need to go to 1 thing and still get the credit for it. Heck I bet I slept through a good chunck of the lectures in that class too and still wound up with an easy A.

Plus Dr. Stuart is not bad anyways, especially if someone gets him ticked off and he goes on one of his histerical and sometimes vulgar rants which is hard to not laugh at. I saw him scream at a kid and got inches from his face while the kid couldn't stop laughing so he kicked him out then took about 5 minutes to cool himself down while going off on things that he finds disrespectful to him in lecture.

off topic but i find it funny that you guys find attendence an annoyance .... personally, i have to attend my classes regularly or i'm dropped from them ... also we have what are called manadory attendence days were all our professors take roll and send in their sheets to the registrar ... somehow it effects our financial aid .... something along the lines of "why give you money to attend school if you aren't going to attend class anyways ...." ... optional attendence must be one of the perks of a large state university vs private ... just my two cents worth ...

If it was a crap elective, in something just to fill a requirement, and I could do fine on the tests without coming to class, then required attendance is annoying.

I agree with you. I'll admit there were some classes I rarely attended but that was because the prof was bad and you gained little out of lecture. If it was required I went and there were some that I liked to go because the prof was good and I gained a lot by going. Should never have the attitude that going to class is a hassle, you paid all that money on tuition so don't waste it. If you can get a good grade in a class without going, fine with me but if it's required to attend then abide by the requirements.

I was pretty good about avoiding 8am classes but had no choice sometimes. I would rather go to class mid-day while I knew others that tried to be done by noon. Even had 1 semester that I had a 8, 11, 2, and 6pm class twice a week which sucked because that basically wiped out a good chunk of your day but that is how the scheduling went.

The 3 easiest classes I ever took at ISU, in no particular order.

I guess I should have clarified and said, "The 3 easiest 3 credit classes I've taken at ISU."
But i agree, Volleyball was fun and easy, too.

Volleyball was probably my favorite class through all of college. I made some good friends in class and we formed a great intramural volleyball team.
