anyone else having issues with the difficulty changing on its own? I almost have to change it every time i play because it reverts back to Heisman
I feel like my difficulty level keeps switching to varsity on its own. I swear I'm always having to check and then change it to All-American.

I'm still using Iowa States. I was pretty inept with it until I learned how to more effectively run the RPO's but I've come to like it. I end up hot routing quite a few in and out routes anyway.
How do you run RPOs without getting illegal man downfield penalties constantly?

I suck with the RPO’s. Any tips there?

I try to get the ball out as quick as possible and it seems to work pretty good. Maybe 1 out of every 20 I’ll get an illegal man downfield. I just do the quick bubble ones
I was doing the slant or post ones (that ISU) runs very well. Play works great but got penalized almost every time. Will keep working on it.

You've got to throw the ball really quickly before the hand off would happen. If you try to pull the ball with the quarterback and throw it after the play action, you will get illegal downfield every time because the offensive line is programmed to get to the next level block as fast as they can. The bubbles and quick slants are the ones I've had success with. I watch the defensive back at the snap and if he gives cushion I will pass it and if he doesn't I hand it off. I'm far from a pro at it but they've at least become serviceable.

Awesome!! Thanks. Yeah I’ve been going through the full read option fake and keep. So I should hit the button right away to bring up the pass icons?

I look at the play art pre-snap to see what buttons I can throw to so I don't have to think about it during the play - usually there's only one or two options. Based on how the defense aligns I choose which receiver I'm going to target, then make the read whether or not to throw right after the snap.

Thanks. You have to push A (on Xbox) to throw it or else it hands off right? The same button to keep it on the read option.

Or maybe I’m really screwed up on the RPIOs.

No, you push the button of the receiver. If X is on a quick slant, you would push X to throw prior to the handoff. You only need to hold A if you don't want to pass and you want to QB to pull the ball from the RB.

I'd recommend going into practice and trying it out.

Much appreciated. Yeah I practiced it before, but I was doing the full read option keep and then throwing it. Seemed great until live action with officials!

Haven't tried this myself, but if you want to hold on to the ball longer before passing have you tried using your pre-snap adjustments to change your o-lines blocking scheme? Maybe changing to a pass block or something like that would keep them from moving downfield

Way up there
Just starting the 2026 season, the portal has hit me hard. Heading into Kinnick week 2. The Hawks have JJ Kohl under center and Heisman candidate Abu Sama toting the rock.

Setting my game up now, don't understand the 'passing style' thing under Customize Your Play Style... advice?

Is that where you choose revamped, placement and accuracy, or classic? If so, go with revamped. It takes a little bit to learn but is pretty solid after you do.

I've really been able to see the dynamic AI kick in on my dynasty. I started the season 4-0 with only one of the games really being close. The next three games I lost and I have looked like a complete fool on defense and struggled to move the ball on offense. Overall I'm really enjoying the game but I'm getting so damn sick of watching my defenders take the worst possible pursuit angles and get the doors blown off of them

Made the jump to All American difficulty in a new online dynasty I started with a few buddies. We randomly assigned 1 star (not 1.5 star, only 1 star) teams and I got Kent State. Got smoked by Pitt in the opener & narrowly beat an FCS squad in game 2. Gonna take awhile to get good, but I guess that's the point when starting out at the bottom.

In the previous version ('14) when playing defense you could key on an individual offensive player, I think it was by pushing down on R3 and then toggling through to the offensive player you wanted to key on. I've only tried the new game out a little so far, but haven't seen the ability to do that. Anyone know if you can still set your D to key on an offensive player?
