If this is who Mangino wants, then I will take him. I just think there are more pressing issues to address.
Richardson, Rohach, Lanning, Hodge, DLC, and now DeLira. That's 6 QB's for 2015.
Same HS where Mangino found Reesing
Lake Travis is a perennial power in Texas HS football
They've had a string of QB's go on to play in the Big XII:
Reesing, Garret Gilbert, Michael Brewer, Baker Mayfield & now DeLira
Yeah I'm excited...
Appears to have some pretty good footwork, pocket presence, and ability to throw on the run (we know we need that). Please bookmark this post as I'm predicting him to be the next Johnny Football or Dommy Football.
I'd take a few of his WRs too.
excited about a QB nobody has offer?
Then did we offer to quick? still lots of three stars out there
you clearly have no idea how qb recruiting worksexcited about a QB nobody has offer?
Mangino, Delira, Italian names. This recruit is not very big, not very fast. I think Austin Flynn was bigger. Hopefully he gain some good wt before he ever sees the field.
Looks like we got a lot of YouTube scouts ITT. They watch a highlight tape on YouTube and they're talking about "quick release, good foot work, nice down field vision". Gtfo.
6 QB's for 2015? Hopefully they realize you only out one QB on the field every play.
Seriously, you don't need 6 QB's.
Bates played wide receiver. Some qbs could switch positions like Iowa has done.

Mangino had options of several QBs after we missed on Burrow, some with more offers and stars. This kid flat out beat them all when it came to throwing in a pressure situation. Not very often ISU can say it had its pick of QBs, but Mangino did here (minus Burrows obviously).
One of the others was a big kid with tons of athletic ability, but Mangino offered a kid that could throw it all over. Probably tells you what he wants to do to some extent.
I know they can switch positions, but then why not just recruit players at the actual position?
Iowa has been really good at doing this historically.Because QB is the most important position. And QB's are generally great athletes that even if they do not end up at QB they can play somewhere else. It is a strength in numbers thing of increasing your odds of finding that good QB.
