Need to get a real P5 offense coordinator and it will fix everything. Special team coach should be fired by tonight. No coach will be better then having one.

Life of a Iowa State Football fan:

Hire a coach. Has some early success. Fans worry about him leaving. AD gives him an extension and a raise to try to keep him here. Said coach then shts the bed. Rinse and repeat.
You are describing both the Walden and McCarney tenures.....Our coaches who get extensions, then....just seem to regress and never get better.....Sad but True

ISU also has the experience of letting coaches go who had some success here, but go on and become HoF coaches like Johnny Majors or Earle Bruce.

So whatchu gonna do.

Wonder what JP says to CMC during annual reviews? Does he bring up the team never being ready for the first game and issues with ST? These seem like obvious and easy questions that need to be addressed.

There is nothing more demoralizing than giving up big plays on special teams. After the losses last year to Iowa and Kansas State, you would think that would have gotten fixed.

Special teams alone is costing ISU games, and has been for some time now. I don't know how you argue that you have been addressing it when you don't even have a coach who focuses on it.
