That last comment made me think of something else that's annoying. People that park backwards in a parking space. Every morning I see these 5 foot tall ladies driving monster SUV's and they feel the need to back them into the parking space. It usually takes them about 10 minutes to line everything up. Why?

They STRONGLY SUGGEST that we park backwards at work. Our company is HUGE on safety and aparantly it is safer to back in to your spot then pull out forward.

I drive a full-size truck and it's many times easier to back it into a space than pull in forwards, not to mention trying to get out. Although it doesn't matter for me because I never park with 10 spaces of another car if I can avoid it. And if we go somewhere that I know I'll have to park next to someone we take the wifes car!

I like to go out of my way to park right next to people who do this. You're welcome.

I'll do the parking lot thing if it's freezing out and I have my kids. Otherwise I need to walk.

Speaking of irritating....

I had a guy with a blue-tooth waiting behind me in line at the Wal-Mart swearing like a sailor on the "phone" in front of my kids. It took me awhile to figure out who the hell he was talking to. It was his wife or GF. I would have said something but he looked like he had a gun and wasn't afraid to die using it.

Not necessarily directed at you, but I have actually had people do this, not many, but some. What exactly is the mentality behind that if you are actually one of them? I'm not bothering anyone out there, why would you/someone park next to me just to annoy me?

And yeah, if my son is with me I'll park close, although usually my wife is with also so I'll just drop them off at the door and then go park.

If old people are such good & supposedly cautious drivers, then why do so many of them cruise through stop signs and pull right out in front of me? Almost always with a handicapped permit!

On your license plate, the little sticker is supposed to go in the bottom left corner...

NOTHING makes me more crazy than the idiot with the stickers all lined up around the outside of the license plate!

Lots of little things **** me off, but this has to be the smallest, I really want to follow these idiots to there destination and give them an education.

I'm all for a law that requires everybody to get tested every 5 years or so. Not all the idiot drivers on the road are old people.

One of the things that ****es me off the most is people that decide they can turn right on red whenever the heck they want to, with no regard to anybody else on the road.

Most of the driving pet peeves seem to be due to people's lack of respect for anybody else on the road.

Maybe I'm just easily annoyed but sometimes just the littlest things upset me.

Here is an example;

Last Friday night I'm having a cold one at Tim's Time Out in Grimes (great old-school bar BTW) and this young guy walks in and orders a Corona. This is just my opinion but Corona has to be one of the worst beers ever made and I believe they charge $1.00 more per bottle at Tim's. At this point I just think to myself "he must not know any better" and turn away. A few seconds later this guy walks by and he has his thumb over the hole and has the beer upside down. He holds it upside down for about 2 minutes. In the next 2-3 hours I see this guy do the same thing everytime he goes up and gets a beer.

Am I missing something? Is there something about tipping a Corona upside down that makes it taste better?

Back when I was living up in Cedar Falls the Diamond Dave there had special nights for Corona's. We use hold the bottles upside down until the lime floated up. It wasn't for 2 minutes though, more like 30 seconds. I still do it 13 years later, don't ask me why.

Amen, drive through Story City sometime, those old people are horrendous drivers. Or highway 69 from Story to Ames and get behind some elderly folk, it's hell. My father-in-law does body work on cars and he would agree with me.

Also I've had problems with elderly folk on the interstate keeping the car between the lines.

I avoid Hwy 69 whenever I can. You can never go 60 on it, somebody is always driving at exactly the speed limit.

Tecate or Tecate lite. Best beer in Mexico. They sell it at roadside stands just like lemonade stands. Buy a six pack, they put it in a plastic bag with ice. A drive through the border to Central Mexico is very eye opening, I don't think I want to do it again. But, since that trip, I've always liked the Tecate. You can get it here in the state's if you look. Ahhribbaaa!!!!

My pet peeve is when people drive 100000 miles per hour every where they go in Ankeny. If people in this town had half a brain they would realize that they could drive 10 mph less and not have to pull out in front of me all the time and ..... shocker..... it might take you 1 more minute on your drive.

Other pet peeve is to the 60 year old man who got mad at me when he drove right through a stop sign and I honked at him. The man literally got out of his truck and started walking toward me yelling he was going to kick my ***. I had to stop laughin so I could continue my drive.

I like the location of Ankeny... but I have never lived in a place with this little sense of community. People here are a**holes.
