Watched a game with a buddy last night... Guy knows basketball, coached it for years. Has not seen ISU much so it was interesting to hear him say who is this Dendy guy. He was very impressed with his athleticism and size.... I explained he was hurt or playing hurt in our losses and he said no wonder.
How key is having him to our success? I think he will be crucial in the Big 12, brings a different skill set than big Hammy.
I would venture with a healthy Dendy we may only have the Cal loss.... Have to give Gmac credit, guys looked like they cared tonight, more hustle, more grit... I still think it can improve but the direction looked positive.

I think he really sets the tone as far as energizing the team. The man adds a lot of heart and energy, and brings plenty of excitement.

I think he has the potential to be major impact. We havent seen all he can do.

Yes they played harder lastnight. Wasnt thrilled with some shots that went up and the fact they let Iowa back into the game late, but did see alot more hustle and want. Was fun to watch them click at times and make some great pass/ instant buckets.

"Guy knows basketball" but hasn't seen Iowa State play much and didn't know who Dendy was? Has he heard of HB?

everybody that knows BB, in the entire world, knows about ISU BB and Dendy!!:jimlad:

believe it or not... BB doesn't revolve in knowing Dendy or ISU.

:shocking:

I think the strategy there was not to get Lickliter fired, so that he continues to recuits less than stellar athletes--and we continue to win.

I have to admit that I like the energy that Dendy can bring to the court. It helps to be firing on all cylinders.

Dendy sometimes seems like the only one one capable of getting others on the team fired up.

I love Brackins, Gilstrap and the others on this team, but it would nice to see some emotion a little more frequently.

I was impressed by DG's leadership on the bench, he was yelling at the guys on the floor, telling them what they needed to do. He is very supportive, and I believe he is getting more comfortable with being a leader/role player for this team. I forsee Colvin and him splitting the game 50/50. I love the pressure on the point guard last night, it seemed to make the entire team more aggressive. I hope we can grow from this and get more intense throughout the season.

Dendy played much better last night. Still threw up a really bad shot from way out. Just doesn't look like that is his game.

When he figures out that he needs to only shoot in the paint, he'll be a lot better.

Chris Williams has said this team will go as far as Diante Garrett will let them this year. I disagree. I think you could have Colvin or even Buckley in there and it wouldn't matter too much. IMO this team will go as far as Gilstrap and Dendy can take them. If those two don't score and bring athleticism we will lose... plain and simple.

Cougill is a great athlete. I would take Gatens though, he is the type of player this ISU team lacks.

Dendy adds a lot to this team. As well as a healty JVB.

Over 350 wins at the college (DIII) level in Illinois, was considered for the ISU job when Johnny got hired, retired now... I would say he knows basketball... You should think before you type son.

Looks like Colvin has solidly put himself in front of Buckley,,, seems to have more ability to break folks down.... I hope Buckley keeps his chin up...

I really like JVB -- this team get it going they are scary , lot of folks that can fill it up. Just would like to see soe more killer instinct and refuse to lose attitude at times... Than can be developed over the course of a season,,, I am very hopeful.

This team needs good play from the PG to do well. When the PG has his head up his *** or isnt moving the ball well that is when this team struggles. Last night when the team moved and the ball moved around a lot is when they played their best. That starts at the point.
