My revised DC ("EU") Movie rankings. I rank these films mostly on "re-watchability":

8. Suicide Squad - garbage movie, and I have zero desire to re-watch it again

*Joker - I don't consider this part of the DC films, but felt it needed to be ranked. I really enjoyed the movie, I just don't think it's a movie I would watch a second time. That being said, given the choice between Suicide Squad or Joker I would pick Joker in a heartbeat.

7. BvS - there are some really great Batman scenes in this movie, the Warehouse scene in particular is one of the best fight scenes in the "Snyder Trilogy." It's too bad we won't get to see a solo Bat-Fleck film as he was a decent Batman. I rank this as the 2nd lowest film as it just takes too long to get going and the plot is kind of all-over the place: there are way too many other movies I would re-watch before this.

6. Justice League - the ensemble cast is what ranks this above BvS. The likability of Aquaman and Wonder Woman stand-alone films helps with the ranking and makes this movie a more frequent part of the rotation to see Aquaman's debut.

5. Man of Steel - this is probably too low, and means I should re-watch it again. This is probably the third best stand-alone Superman movie (I'll need to re-watch Superman 2 to be sure) - nothing will top the original Superman film. Solid acting and I really like how Snyder depicted Superman's powers.

4. Birds of Prey - some of the best action scenes in the DCEU. As noted in a few posts above I thought the script was a bit clunky which keeps it out of the Top 3.

3. Wonder Woman - the top 3 are really hard to rank. The acting is great, the story is solid, and the effects work well. The ranking just comes down to I would rather re-watch #1 & #2 before this.

2. Shazam! - I consider this to be the Ant-Man for the DCEU. Equal parts charming, funny and scary. This is one of the few films my family has watched where the kids were enthralled the whole time.

1. Aquaman - the villain isn't one of the best, and Amber Heard's performance loses its luster every time I watch it, and Willem Dafoe was clearly in it for the paycheck. But the effects are the best of the DCEU and Jason Mamoa owns the role of Aquaman. This film always seems to be in my rotation when looking for something to watch.

Interesting. Even with all the bad reviews I though Suicide Squad was a fun/stupid little flick. Entertaining enough. On the other hand, I though Birds of Prey was probably the worst movie I had ever seen. Wonder Woman is easily #1 on this list for me.

Where can I watch these? The DC streaming subscription?

It appears that they have moved to DC Online or VOD/Blu-Ray purchase only. I remember being able to watch Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League War on Netflix but the animated DC films are no longer listed.

I skimmed through DC Universe site and have marked the movies they list as available:

I'm sure there are more films available on DC Universe, but I'm not a subscriber, so I can't confirm.
Also Justice League Dark: Apokolips War was released on digital yesterday. The Blu-Ray release is May 19.

Apparently now WB is dropping their reportedly in the works Supergirl movie, at least for now, in order to focus on what they would like to do with Superman. For me, if true, this is good news. It isn't that I don't want to see a Supergirl movie, because I do, but it is rather how WB goes about structuring their movie universe, which is just a conjobbled reactionary mess rather than methodically working their way up to stuff. Its like they saw the success of Captain Marvel and decided they now instantly need 20 Harley Quinn movies, Batgirl, Supergirl... etc, and all right now (minus the Harley Quinn movies, I do eventually want to see all those). For me, where we are right now in the universe is screaming for another Superman movie, which could be a perfect place to then set up Supergirl to springboard into then her own movie. The other thing I never liked about the Supergirl project was the 1970s setting they were talking about doing it in. I hope they drop that. I get why they've worked their way through the years with Wonder Woman and I've liked it (Wonder Woman and Captain America: The First Avenger are a couple of my all-time faves), but as for a Supergirl movie, I'm ready for a now movie. We've had enough superhero movies set in the past. Shoot, X-Men has been there for years. I want more movies in today's setting, which is also what I hope they do with future Wonder Woman movies past 1984.

I feel like that is what WW is building towards - a final film in the WW trilogy set in the modern day (which would likely be 3-4 years from now). The schtick of WW is that she is a traditionalist that has to adapt to the modern world around her, which we saw on display in WW1 and we see (in the trailers) how she navigates Steve Trevor through the 1980s. I think it only makes sense the finale would take place in the modern day where she has fully-embraced the modern world, but needs to "go back to her roots" in order to stop the final villain. It would bring that arc full-circle.

As for Supergirl - meh - not really interested, but I would still see it. A great, original character for DC to adapt would be Zatanna. Zatanna could be another Shazam! if it's handled well.

Yeah, it has made good sense to bring Wonder Woman up through the years, somewhat in the same way as Captain America. As for Supergirl, naw, its not needed and it also negates the impact of Superman's original arrival into the world. I'd be on board for a Zatanna movie. Could be fun and different. Please give me that before we see another Harley Quinn movie, but then again, who would then keep Hot Topic flush with new merchandise? I guess Zatanna could make for some great merch as well.

For those who haven't watched it, I found it really to be quite good. I'd recommend.
Sounds like the CW is just using Swamp Thing to fill gaps in their summer programming, so it may not mean this will renew the show for a S2. It's also notable that this is yet another DC Universe exclusive show that has left the platform:

Doom Patrol will launch new S2 episodes on DC Universe and HBO Max simultaneously.

Harley Quinn S1 is currently airing on SyFy

Stargirl launches new episodes on DC Universe first and then will air that episode on CW the following day.

It doesn't seem like DC Universe will be around much longer.

I think reviews are looking good so far for Stargirl. As for Doom Patrol S2, I'd probably rather stab my hand with a fork than watch another season of that, so hard pass for me, and you know me, I watch about anything superhero related.

If you wanted to catch-up on the various Arrowverse series on the CW, now would be a good time:

The CW has delayed the series premier for a majority of their shows until 2021, this includes all of their DC properties, like Flash, Supergirl and the new Superman & Lois series which will debut early in 2021.

The CW also announced the next crossover event will be a shorter 2-hour event and will feature Batwoman and Superman.

I know the Arrowverse is extensive. I watched the first 2 series of Arrow, but lost interest after that and now the CW has exploded to include a number of series like Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, and Batwoman. I know @Triggermv has seen most, if not all, of these series so maybe now would be a good time for him to give an update on seasons to watch and maybe a viewing order for those that want to dive into these series.

Yeah, I'd agree now would be a good time to catch up on the series for anyone interest for sure. It hard for me to get too gung-ho about recommending any of it too much, as in general, I've found the Arrowverse shows to all be on somewhat of a gradual downward slope over time. I also think their model is just getting tired as well too, which is a network TV model with around 22 episodes, and I've grown to hate that model. With that said, I have not seen the recent seasons yet for any of these, as I usually watch them all together when they drop on Netflix. On the flip side, I am actually pretty excited for the upcoming Superman and Lois TV show coming in January, as I love Superman and I do like Tyler Hoechlan in the role. That is maybe my one Arrowverse positive right now. Plus, I've really enjoyed Jon Cryer as Lex Luthor in Supergirl, so I'm assuming he will cross over. With all that said, again, my vigor for the Arrowverse is very low right now, and I debate each year whether I'm willing to continue the whole shebang, as each series is A LOT of episodes. Anyway, here is my latest Superhero TV rankings to at least give people an idea of which ones I consider better than others. BTW, have I mentioned I really hate Legends of Tomorrow?

Not really DC-related, but just a look at the current state at the movie theater industry:

Christopher Nolan's next film, Tenet, is still scheduled to come out July 17. It is seen as a litmus test if theatrical releases can still be profitable this year. Tenet had a $200 million budget and was on track for a large opening day, pre-COVID. All the major studios are waiting to see what happens to Tenet (a Warner Bros film). Should Tenet move it's release date back it would likely take the place of Wonder Woman 1984 and push that film back later in the year. According to a rival studio marketing executive, if Tenet doesn't come out on July 17 then "(i)t's no movies until Christmas."

Supposedly Nolan really wants Tenet to come out this summer.

It's not his fault, but there was an EXTREMELY long trailer for it before I saw Star Wars. So long I was honestly pissed off, so I just have some negative feelings about that movie already.

If you read the Deadline article, it's believed that Nolan's compensation is 20% "first dollar gross" (I had to look this up) which means that he gets 20% of the total box office beginning Day 1 of the film's release. This is why Nolan wants the movie to release on time, and also why WB needs the film to perform well since they have to split the proceeds with Nolan and make back their $200 million they spent on production.

There is an awful lot of smoke lately about a Justice League Snyder Cut finally getting released on HBOMax. The reason why I say this now instead of after the million other rumors of this over the past year is because there is finally some decent sources hinting it might be coming.

I just think the whole "Snyder Cut" is a lot of hype over nothing, similar to the "Rogue Cut" of X-Men: Days of Future Past. It's not going to change the plot beats of the film and at best supplements some of the minute details. Maybe we'll get that reveal of Jonn Jonzz/Martian Manhunter, but it's not like he participates in any of the action scenes. If anything, a JL Snyder Cut announcement would worry me, as it could signify that WB may be pushing back some of their upcoming theatrical releases, like Wonder Woman 1984, and are hoping for solid VOD/Blu-Ray sales to supplement the Box Office drought.

I get where you are coming from, but I do believe the Snyder Cut likely will end up a little more different than you are thinking beings how it was rumored at the time that upwards of 70% of the movie was re-shot. That is really quite significant and I do think a lot of general plot details will be different. I could be wrong though. I'm also not forensically investigating all the differences as much as some of the Snyder-Cut fanatics out there. I'm sure they could borderline tell you beat for beat every single difference :). Me, would I like to see the Snyder Cut? Sure. Amy I heartbroken if I never see it? No. I honestly don't even know if I'll like it or not. To me, I loved Man of Steel and believe it to be the #1 most underrated comic book movie of all time. On the other hand, I really DID NOT like Batman vs Superman theatrical cut and only liked the Ultimate Cut somewhat more. So, where does that leave me with Zack Snyder stuff? No clue.
