My revised DC ("EU") Movie rankings. I rank these films mostly on "re-watchability":

    8. Suicide Squad - garbage movie, and I have zero desire to re-watch it again

*Joker - I don't consider this part of the DC films, but felt it needed to be ranked. I really enjoyed the movie, I just don't think it's a movie I would watch a second time. That being said, given the choice between Suicide Squad or Joker I would pick Joker in a heartbeat.

    7. BvS - there are some really great Batman scenes in this movie, the Warehouse scene in particular is one of the best fight scenes in the "Snyder Trilogy." It's too bad we won't get to see a solo Bat-Fleck film as he was a decent Batman. I rank this as the 2nd lowest film as it just takes too long to get going and the plot is kind of all-over the place: there are way too many other movies I would re-watch before this.

    6. Justice League - the ensemble cast is what ranks this above BvS. The likability of Aquaman and Wonder Woman stand-alone films helps with the ranking and makes this movie a more frequent part of the rotation to see Aquaman's debut.

    5. Man of Steel - this is probably too low, and means I should re-watch it again. This is probably the third best stand-alone Superman movie (I'll need to re-watch Superman 2 to be sure) - nothing will top the original Superman film. Solid acting and I really like how Snyder depicted Superman's powers.

    4. Birds of Prey - some of the best action scenes in the DCEU. As noted in a few posts above I thought the script was a bit clunky which keeps it out of the Top 3.

    3. Wonder Woman - the top 3 are really hard to rank. The acting is great, the story is solid, and the effects work well. The ranking just comes down to I would rather re-watch #1 & #2 before this.

    2. Shazam! - I consider this to be the Ant-Man for the DCEU. Equal parts charming, funny and scary. This is one of the few films my family has watched where the kids were enthralled the whole time.

    1. Aquaman - the villain isn't one of the best, and Amber Heard's performance loses its luster every time I watch it, and Willem Dafoe was clearly in it for the paycheck. But the effects are the best of the DCEU and Jason Mamoa owns the role of Aquaman. This film always seems to be in my rotation when looking for something to watch.

I actually really liked Titans S2. Man, is that girl who plays Donna Troy hot. Doom Patrol, I started off liking it...thought it was kind of weird and a different angle similar to Legion. But, instead of taking that weirdness and moving forward with a story, it leaned into it and just got way too crazy. In the end, I had a hard time finishing because it just got too dumb. If they have a S2, I won't be watching it.

Most people hate Suicide Squad, but I liked it. First real role for Harley Quinn and Robbie nailed it. I personally don't know why everyone hates the movie. The one thing I didn't like were the faceless bad guys, but the Enchantress and her brother were decent villains and made for a good final fight. Will Smith did fine. I liked Captain Boomerang, Amanda Walker, Cpt Flagg. Did not care for Katana...that role wasn't really necessary, and Killer Croc was kind of a waste. But I thought overall, it was a decent plot with good action and mostly interesting characters.

I like your list and thanks for sharing it. I have a lot of similar sentiments in general with you. Probably the biggest difference between you and me is I think you have both Man of Steel and Wonder Woman too low, but not too many gripes past that.

I think everything you said here was totally fair. I can also see how somebody would like Titans S2 more than me because the season still did get a lot of things right. I just personally had some pretty big qualms with the writing and some of the character directions they chose. Its also tough tackling Deathstroke as a villain when Arrow already did such an amazing job with his storyline in that TV series. Therefore, no matter how good Deathstroke's costume looked in Titans, I was inevitably stuck comparing the two different takes and storylines for the character.

And yes, Donna Troy was super hot in that series and I thought her costume was spectacular as well.

I'll also say Minka Kelly as Dove...not too shabby either. But, I do think that they got Starfire wrong. I have no issues with her being black...she seems kind of orange in the comics anyway, but they kind of made her look like a stripper/hooker. Could have cast (and dressed) that one better.

Honestly looking at your list my only quibbles will be that I think Man of Steel is actually pretty good. That and WW are probably my favorite DC movies. That said, probably my biggest problem with the DCEU is looking at this list every movie is just way too long. I mean way too long.

Man of Steel - 2 hr 23 min
    BvS: 3 hr 3 min
    WW: 2 hr 29 min
    Aquaman: 2 hr 22 min
    Shazam: 2 hr 12 min

Honestly none of these movies are rewatchable for me, and it's too bad because there are some great scenes in all of them. Best example is the scene from Justice League where Flash is running around bad Superman - and Superman turns his head to Flash, and Flash gets that "oh crap" look on his face. That was fantastic.

Zak Snyder provided a live commentary during a recent viewing of BvS. Here were the takeaways from what could have been:

*Snyder intended to have a 5-movie arch, and we got 3 films (maybe more like 2.5)

*Lois Lane was going to be killed off and that event is what sparks the apocalyptic events that were alluded to in BvS

*Actor Harry Lennix, who played General Swanwick in Man of Steel and BvS was supposed to be revealed as Martian Manhunter in Justice League. Apparently the actor was aware of this and tailored his performance in Man of Steel for that eventual revelation

There are lots of other tidbits recapped in this article, and after reading this I may just have to revisit BvS again in the near-future.

Please no. Birds of Prey was alright and there were things to like about it that I enjoyed, but I'm just not that interested in seeing a bazillion Harley Quinn movies, which I swear is what WB seems to think the public wants (they clearly don't based on box office). Lets face it, Harley Quinn is a fairly shallow one-note character that is best off as a supporting character anyway. Lets please take that money and effort and redirect it into a Green Lantern, Batgirl, or Man of Steel 2 movie please, which is actually what people WANT to see.

    https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/juliareinstein/ezra-miller-fantastic-beasts-choking-video

Don't know if anyone saw this video that surfaced yesterday of Ezra Miller supposedly choking and throwing to the ground a girl fan of his. Its honestly such a weird video as its so short and hard to tell what is really going on since there is practically zero context before or after the move by Ezra. Taken by itself though, it definitely looks really bad and should be considered bad if it is in fact true. I'm kind of waiting to pass full judgement on it until I see the response from Miller's camp or other sources as to the validity of the video.

    https://cosmicbook.news/flash-canceled-ezra-miller

Latest rumors on the Ezra Miller front is that WB is currently investigating the Iceland incident and is considering dropping The Flash movie altogether, as well as his involvement in Fantastic Beasts franchise. Variety has also been reporting that the video was in fact real and that Miller was escorted out of the bar afterwards by security. Miller has yet to respond still to anything. Outside of the stupidity of this incident by Ezra, how about the stupidity of being in a crowded bar during these times??? That alone is stupid enough, and why is the bar open anyway still?

Iceland is a small enough country that they are testing anyone/everyone and are sending those that test positive into isolation. It's actually kind of fascinating.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/iceland-coronavirus-pandemic-approach-could-help-other-countries-2020-4

In regards to the Flash film, WBs has to be ticked because Iceland is a prime shooting location for many films, and not necessarily part of the DC-franchise. If they don't do something with Ezra Miller then the country could use this as an excuse to put some heavy restrictions on where WB can shoot.

HBO Max is developing a series based around characters from Justice League Dark. Bad Robot (JJ Abrams studio) is behind the project and they are also developing 2 other series for HBO Max (but aren’t comic-related). Bad Robot is the studio behind Westworld on HBO.

This announcement hints at a couple of things:
*I think it’s inevitable that DC’s streaming service gets rolled-in to HBO Max.
*The likelihood of a big screen Justice League Dark just took a huge hit, but this may actually work out better in the long term.

There will also be a Green Lantern series on HBO Max that comes from Greg Berlanti, who has been behind all the DC-series on the CW (Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow)

Am I the only one who has totally fallen in love with the Harley Quinn series on DC Universe? It is surprisingly, amazingly, good.
    And hilarious.
