Interesting choices for not only the villains, but the actors cast.
1) Catwoman's not really a villain, and it'll be interesting to see if her addition is mostly to throw a potential love interest in there for Bruce/Batman or whether she'll be a bit more sinister. Anne Hathaway really surprises me, because it's kind of hard for me to imagine a princessy type person playing that role. I'm somewhat intrigued to see how it all comes together.
2) Bane as an actual villain...well, it's interesting they picked him because 1) he's a relatively 'new' villain and 2) his claim to fame is being the 'Man who broke the Bat'. His abilities do seem a bit difficult to 'rationalize' in a 'realistic' universe, but I'm sure if you can have microwave technology that can vaporize entire water supplies but leave water inside humans completely unharmed, then perhaps you can come up with something believable for Venom.
As for Tom Hardy playing Bane, well, it is a interesting choice, as Hardy is 1) not particularly big and 2) he's British. Easy to work around, of course, but still.
Villains that probably couldn't fit in Nolan's universe:
Killer Croc, Dr. Freeze, Clayface, Man-Bat, Poison Ivy and Solomon Grundy
Villains that could be used:
Riddler, Hush, Deathstroke or Deadshot, Harley Quinn (though without Joker...), Dr. Strange, Penguin (as a regular short fat guy. Not as a human penguin)
