If I've learned one thing in life, it's to never doubt Christopher Nolan. I'm excited.

I agree with a previous poster who mentioned wanting to have Harley Quinn in it, and she wouldn't need 'Mr J' on screen with her to wreak some havoc.

It looks like she needs a little bit of... "support." If any of you see two hands acting as a bra, you'll know who to thank. Or curse, whichever.

The other women I suggested can bring more depth than Anne Hathaway IMO. Whether it is being more vulnerable, edgier or sexier.
You really think Mila Kunis would bring more depth than Anne Hathaway? For my money, Anne Hathaway has more acting ability than just about everyone on your list. Got to say I'm looking forward to this one. I was kind of hoping for the Riddler as one of the villians.

Very true and Heath Ledger made Jack Nicholson look bad. Not an easy thing to do. Wish he was still around to reprise the role.

I'm actually torn on this. I agree that Ledger put Nicholson to shame, and I admit I never thought that was possible. But a part of me would want that to be the end of the role in Nolan's interpretation. It can't be topped, an instant-classic. I mean come on, it's been theorized that the role may have had something to do with Ledger's death, just because he had to dive deeply into such a dark character to make it work. I don't think that's true, but the performance was well beyond good enough to make people consider that.

1. Anne Hathaway's rack is very nice.
2. I am going to go ahead and trust the guy that turned a gay cowboy into perhaps the best acting job I have ever or will ever see even though I have some doubts here.

Interesting choices for not only the villains, but the actors cast.

1) Catwoman's not really a villain, and it'll be interesting to see if her addition is mostly to throw a potential love interest in there for Bruce/Batman or whether she'll be a bit more sinister. Anne Hathaway really surprises me, because it's kind of hard for me to imagine a princessy type person playing that role. I'm somewhat intrigued to see how it all comes together.

2) Bane as an actual villain...well, it's interesting they picked him because 1) he's a relatively 'new' villain and 2) his claim to fame is being the 'Man who broke the Bat'. His abilities do seem a bit difficult to 'rationalize' in a 'realistic' universe, but I'm sure if you can have microwave technology that can vaporize entire water supplies but leave water inside humans completely unharmed, then perhaps you can come up with something believable for Venom.

As for Tom Hardy playing Bane, well, it is a interesting choice, as Hardy is 1) not particularly big and 2) he's British. Easy to work around, of course, but still.

Villains that probably couldn't fit in Nolan's universe:
Killer Croc, Dr. Freeze, Clayface, Man-Bat, Poison Ivy and Solomon Grundy

Villains that could be used:
Riddler, Hush, Deathstroke or Deadshot, Harley Quinn (though without Joker...), Dr. Strange, Penguin (as a regular short fat guy. Not as a human penguin)

I'd love to see Johnny Depp as the Riddler. He's capable of playing darker characters, and has the ability to put all of the necessary quirkiness into the role.
The only hitch is that Nolan has seemed to stray away from getting a truly star-studded cast. It's pretty much been Bale, Caine, Oldman, and then a lot of actors that I really, really like, but are kind of underrated (Murphy, Ledger, Eckhart, Gyllenhaal, and especially Neeson), at least in my opinion. I don't mind that at all, he's done brilliant work with the story.

I hate to doubt Nolan here, because I am certainly impressed with the movies he’s made… but this is turning into a lot of characters. And if there is one thing we’ve learned from super hero movies over the years, it’s that too many characters is a recipe for disaster. IMO, the Dark Knight suffered from this as well. No way should they have done the whole Two-Face storyline in that movie. Just my opinion obviously.

I agree that the Two-Face aspect was kind of crammed in there. But that was a really cool way to have Dent make that shift. Once you put him into the story, you've got to make the shift eventually, and with the way that the Joker was used, it practically had to be in TDK.

But Nolan did pretty well. Definitely didn't suffer too much from having Two-Face. I think a lot of how this one turns out is going to depend on what direction he takes Catwoman. If he handles that character correctly, it should be another fantastic film. And given his track record, I feel pretty confident that he will do it right.

While i agree that the Two Face plotline was executed poorly compared to the rest of the film, you couldn't really cut it out. It was central to the entire theme of the movie. The problem was, they couldn't flesh it out enough to do it right, or the movie would have been too long.

While I'd agree that the Dark Knight may have suffered from being a bit long, I thought the two-face and joker stories were very well and fairly naturally interwoven. I don't know how you separate the two. It wasn't like randomly having Venom and Sandman team-up at the end of Spider-man 3.

And I have said this for a long time regarding Depp as Riddler. One of the strengths of the new movies has been that they've just been Batman movies, not Nicholson in a Batman movie or Schwarzenneger in a Batman movie. You throw Depp in there and it instantly becomes a Johnny Depp movie. It throws off the balance and it won't be as good.

Apparently Liam Neeson was on the set to shoot a scene the other day. Wonder if they're resurrecting Ra's al Ghul in this movie or if it will just be a flashback.

Anne Hathaway will be a great addition imo. I wouldn't think so based on much of her work, but the job she did in "Rachel Getting Married" convinces me that she has the depth. Call me a poofter for seeing such a femmy work, but she was fantastic at being disturbed and edgy.

I just see this working similarly to the joker a la Heath Ledger. And Hardy as Bane? Fuggetaboutit. That casting was hit out of the ballpark.

I guess I would have liked to see a hot ethnic actress as catwoman ala Eartha Kitt or Halle Berry.

Hathaway's a good actress, but a little too prissy for earthy catwoman.

I think you can pretty easily defend a decision to try to cast the exact opposite of the Halle Berry catwoman.
