I do have a lottery & raffle system setup - it's just a matter of figuring out what people would want out of it. I can setup a raffle for tangible items and a lottery for bi-weekly credits or something like that.

And I agree on the items - keep it to a raffle. X number of credit per ticket and also set a ticket maximum as far as the number you can buy.

Any members that donate items to be raffled off should receive all the credits spent on the tickets.

Careful, from the looks of the top 50 'Members Credits' list roll-over every week (sometimes daily) you're calling quite a few people dumb and stupid, including the esteemed leader.

I'm not calling them dumb or stupid, I'm just saying that some people here are a little irresponsible with their bets at times and blow nearly their entire credit ammount on a single bet. Realistically if you were that sure of something would you blow your life savings on a single bet? I doubt it and I know that this is not real money but I have a problem with people that do that then complain they have no credits left.

I agree with isuno1fan, gotta keep this somewhat realistic so those who do make smart bets are rewarded. Not everyone can be a winner.

It's a free internet site with free credits that mean nothing. Of course irresponsibility is gonna happen!

Maybe you have this in mind, too, but will there be raffle items that aren't game tickets? For out-of-staters, it's not always possible to come to a weeknight game. T-shirts, dates with Cyclone cheerleaders, etc. would be good raffle items.

It loses how fun it is if there aren't real consequences with losing on bets. Right now when I bet I am on the edge of my seat hoping to win while I watch the game. It is like a real bet in my mind. If I know I can lose and in a few days will be right back up with number of credits due to the overly friendly credit system then the whole system starts to lose appeal to me because I don't feel consequences of my decisions.

Um...there are still consequences when you lose - your credits disappear!

You have to work to earn them back by being active, etc. That isn't that much different from the real world - when you lose money in cash bets - you gotta work to earn money again.

Yeesh...taking something fun/simple and over-complicating it...that's never been done before...

Yes but again, if store items or whatever are going to be setup where you need X ammount of credits to get the item it's only fair to not be handing out "charity" credits to those who used them irresponsibly. I'm all about having fun with this, heck I went from being in the top 15 in credits to out of the top 50 on about 2 bets alone this week but if you we are going to start giving out tangible items with this system we gotta keep it fair and not be handing out charity to irresponsible betters while those of us who do bet a little more wisely don't get the same benefit.

I don't think we need to be paying out more credits just because people are being stupid with them and have none left. It's fake gambling, if I blew $50k at the casino I doubt they are going to hand me out some more money just because I went broke. I have a fair ammount of credits and in fact I just lost about 70k or so of them on a couple bets this week but I'm not dumb enough to go all in on something like some people here do then are left out to dry with nothing when they lose.

A loan system sounds interesting but you'd have to set it up somehow so it charges interest on the loaned ammount so people don't abuse it. I think its been a fun feature but I don't think those who are dumb with their credits should be given some special exceptions while those who have been smart with them are in a sense somewhat penalized for being smart with them by giving these people multiple chances to get back up in the credits with them.

I'm not calling them dumb or stupid...

:skeptical:

Good way to explain it, it's not as fun if its too easy to win and anyone can do it.

It's not like you'll ever be able to buy anything with the credits trav - Jer has said that much. It will be done via raffles with caps - winning is all in chance.

Starting to get to be a little too much thought going into this. As they say, if it's not broke...

Irresponsibility...oh dear! Maybe Jeremy needs to start conducting "safe betting" seminars. He could discuss the various methods of CyCredit control, like abstinence from betting, using "protection" when betting (i.e. spreading your bets around), only betting during certain times of the month, etc.
